Chestnut is an American restaurant. We are in a 1920s era building in downtown Asheville, right across for the Aloft hotel and the double decker coffee bus. Parking is plentiful (and cheap) at the public deck under the Aloft Hotel.
Went to Chestnut a year ago when we traveled to Asheville, and wanted to eat here again. As good or better this time. All the food was delicious -- beet salad, lobster bisque, ravioli, petite tenderloin. And then we were still hungry, so we had...More
I'm an Asheville local and while there are many choices for fine food in this town, Chestnut always ranks high in our dining experiences. I come here frequently with friends for lunch and the staff is always accommodating to our group no matter how large....More
We had a reservation, and were seated promptly, at a table by the window. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and had several great suggestions. Everyone in our party of six received their meals at the same time, all served hot (that is, it...More

Husband had the chicken and waffles.
Chicken a little bland.
Had to try the hash special....More
Dinner at this restaurant is excellent. It's located downtown and parking for it is across the street (Biltmore Ave) under the Aloft Apartments building. Very, very short walk slightly uphill towards the restaurant. The atmosphere is quiet. The menu offers a good, small selection of...More

Although Chestnut is downtown in Asheville, NC, and not close to the Biltmore House, their sister restaurant, called Corner Kitchen is closer in Biltmore Village. I have not been there, but it is farm to table and they are open for brunch, lunch and dinner. That would be another option for you if you want something closer and they do take reservations. Hope that helps.
