The waitstaff shirts say it best: "Namaste Y'all". The food tastes good, but it is a lot more trendy than it is authentic and built to appeal to Americans. I was surprised to see other Indians (besides myself) but they were young hip-types. It is actually a little pricey if you order a drink and an appetizer. I'm more into... More

My granddaughters love this place. The thali plate is a feast of flavors, from spicy to sweet. Staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. There are lots of very good places to eat in downtown Asheville, so it has to be really good to get my repeat business. And it is!

Was in town for work and was recommended this place for lunch - did not disappoint! Unlimited refills on chai and the samosa chaat was delicious and well spiced. Reasonable prices for a number of small plates, so it would be fun to come with a group and share a bunch of them. Wish I lived closer because I'd be... More

Loved both dishes! Fried okra with lime and salt and Indian lamb sloppy joes...tight outdoor eating though...

We are from Key West where we don't have Indian Food. We drive 3.5 hours to Miami about once a month to satiated our craving for Indian Food. While on vacation in Asheville, NC we were delighted to discover Chai Pani and we were not disappointed. We ate outside of our comfort zone and we are happy we did as... More

I have eaten here a couple of times and really enjoyed everything. I've had the Vada Pav and the Bombay chili cheese fries and am looking forward to trying more

Don't be fooled, this place will leave you full. Although there menu is smaller then some of the other Indian places in Asheville, it's definitely worth the visit. Stopped in for lunch and had the Chicken Pakoras (absolutely amazing!) and the non-vegeterian Thali. Wasn't all that impressed with the thali but was still good. Service was a bit slow but... More

Walk right in and sit right down and experience authentic food. The Indian food menu was short which is a good thing. Too often a restaurant tries too hard and fails. In this case they do what they say and do it well. A good place to get a quick lunch at a reasonable price.

We had a great dinner at Chai Pani. We aren't experts in Indian cuisine, but our server made excellent recommendations and every dish was very flavorful and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. The vibe was easy-going and relaxed with a wide range of customers.

We frequent Chai Pani's basement bar whenever we can. Their handcrafted cocktails are delicious and unique. Not to mention, they have great finger food and a couple traditional dishes on the menu as well. The upstairs restaurant has a bigger selection of food, and we've eaten here as well and it's very good. The wait staff is always nice and... More
