We don't go to the Admiral as often as we would like as reservations can be hard to get, but, it is always well worth the wait! The menu is creative and everything is prepared really well. I particularly enjoyed the octopus tostada, and the flat iron steak.

I cannot agree with others that this is the best restaurant in Asheville. The atmosphere is not good, very ordinary and almost unpleasant (worse than some diners), service was just average, and I found the food nothing special. My family likes spicy food so they enjoyed it more than I, but we all agreed that this restaurant is over-rated. I... More

In my 6+ years living in Asheville, The Admiral is my favorite restaurant. I can't always afford to go here, but for any special occasion I can, The Admiral is where I would choose to go every time. Their beef tartare is what dreams are made of. Make sure you book a reservation in advance. You can't go wrong with... More

Have to put a stop on my credit card. Got charged double on days I wasn't even there. I ate there once. Been in touch with the restaurant and the bank. Very upset.

Creative and delicious contemporary cuisine that's worth the price without the immature gimmickry of many amateur wannabes that are so abundant in this beautiful mountain town. Eat at the bar for best service, and go early or late. The typical dinner hours are pretty crushed.

Inventive, creative and flavorful plate combinations. We read the reviews about the building and the neighborhood. They were accurate...it's a diamond in the rough. Open kitchen with limited seating. Place has about 6 booths that hold four and 6 tables that seat four, and about 10 seats at the bar. Make reservations. The beet and strawberry salad was sweet, savory... More

This was a very good restaurant and I enjoyed it thoroughly and had a good selection of vegetarian meat and other options of locally sourced food that was cooked to perfection by some very passionate chefs. I enjoyed some good seafood delicacies including fried oysters and a fabulous fish. Highly recommended to check out if you're in the area it... More

This place really really surprised us. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and even the décor inside is questionable, but the food! Oh My, it was so so good. I booked it in advance after reading reviews, but even locals had recommended it once we arrived in Asheville. Im still craving the Okonomiyaki. I had never even heard... More

In West Asheville this little place is off the beaten path and outwardly looks like a dive bar. Fortunately, the food is imaginative and artfully prepared. Our waitress was very helpful in steering us to the house specialties but was not very knowledgeable about the wine list. Funky but clean with great food.

Don't let the exterior fool you. This place is as good as it gets. It looks like a "dive" bar but the food is divine! We started off with cocktails. My wife said her old fashioned was perfect. When she said that I just knew things were going to be good. We had the fried crawfish roll. Perfectly cooked, not... More
