Dear Vitrine, you had me at frigate!! You are soft fluffy filled with goodness that makes breakfast a dream in San fran. In heaven and transcendental space of samsara.

I arrived here for a business lunch, with two colleagues. We were also staying at the hotel. We were there ~2 minutes before they opened, and understood the doors being closed/locked prior to open. A woman came out to the hostess stand, no greeting, and ignored us standing there for about 5 minutes. I finally asked her if we could... More

We had two meals here when we stayed in the St. Regis, and were consistently impressed. The chef's approach is to let the main ingredients shine, without a lot of fussiness. The crab cakes and the lobster, for example, starred the crab and the lobster--fresh, delicious, perfectly seasoned. One stand out moment: our breakfast waiter remembered our names from lunch... I didn't stay in St. Regis San Francisco but was looking for a great breakfast to start my day. I chose Vitrine as it is in Mission St. (very close to where I stayed) and I was a walk-in. I was very surprised of their service especially. Since I've been eating fast food and diner during my stay in San... More

Went here for a couple of business lunches and the food & service is really good. We were provided with homemade bread and butter – all really fresh and tasty. For main courses, I had the chicken breast one day and the wild salmon the next. Both were really good. The chicken was perfectly cooked and came with a lovely... More

If you want to be waited on and hand and foot in a luxurious setting, reserve a table at Vitrine. Hersol is a perfect waiter!

We only dined here for breakfast each morning but the food and the staff was top notch. Each order came out exactly as asked and we had a delicious and leisurely breakfast each morning before starting our busy day. I really looked forward to the start of the day at Vitrine.

Given the price of the hotel, this was a pretty lackluster dining experience. Not sure how St. Regis would only have this offering.

Very convenient restaurant in the St Regis, located on the 4th floor, nice staff and comfortable seating, convenient for an early business meeting

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
