Had a delicious meal at this lively Italian. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful, suggesting dishes and explaining the menu. Can recommend the orange tiramisu!

Excellent service, great ambiance and great food! Well done! Loved our waiter Silveo. Such great atmosphere and food was superb. The pizza with prosciutto and arugula was amazing and we also loved the lamb chops.

We found this restaurant because of Yelp. By far the best Italian food I have ever had. We were on vacation from Arizona. We had the lightly breaded shrimp, calamari zucchini and it was cooked perfectly with a creamy tomato sauce. Then we had the wide noodles with pesto, the ravioli with chestnuts and sage, the margarita pizza, then the... More

The food here was absolutely to die for, definitely the best Italian restaurant I've eaten in. The staff were very friendly with a great sense of humour, you could tell they take pride in their work and rightly so! Am just gutted I was only in San Fran on holiday otherwise would be here every weekend

We went to city lights bookstore and decided we were hungry for dinner. I had seen reviews of this restaurant and thought would be worth trying. We didn't have a reservation but got in anyway around 6 on a Sunday evening. The host and the wait staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food was very good. Wine list was... More

What an amazing restaurant this is. The staff are brilliant, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere in the restaurant is bubbling. They do a gluten free version of every pasta (no gluten free bread unfortunately) so there is plenty of choice for gluten free which is not the case in many Italian restaurants. Went for dinner, the table was... More

They welcome you from the front door and all the waiters are running around making sure you a totally happy and entertain you with a wicked Italian accent!! Food was awesome and the Tiramisu was the best I ever tasted. Came from Calgary, Alberta, Canada for a teacher's conference and we... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
