I had been here before and really enjoyed my meal so when I was in San Francisco last weekend for a work meeting, I had a night to myself and headed to Perbacco for some great homemade pasta. This is a chic italian restaurant, not a mom and pop shop but hey have several cozy tables for one/two people so... More

Our first night in San Francisco, and we had long standing reservations at Perbacco, having seen it come highly recommended. We were sorely disappointed. Despite the restaurant being empty when we arrived, we were still forced to stand around for almost 20 minutes before being seated, and this was after our scheduled reservation time had already passed. The hostess was... More

We celebrated our anniversary by dining at Perbacco - what a special and memorable experience it was! For the appetizer, we shared the burrata cheese with marinated peaches - delicious! jMy husband's main course was the sea scallops. In a word - INCREDIBLE. I'm not prone to violence, but I was seriously tempted to knock him down and take these... More

Un assuming location and frontage, and not too many covers, but what great food and service. Very nice Italian fayre, very well cooked (pasta was perfectly al dente). In our opinion also good value.

Loved it last time there. Still good but we had to change tables (had reservations for two months) because they stuck us upstairs crowded between two large tables. They accommodated our request. The food was as good as we remembered. Great anti pastas and I had a wonderful sea salt dark chocolate ice cream. Would recommend.

The atmosphere is nice. We were seated upstairs. The decor reminds me of a hotel on Miami Vice. I must say our server was excellent. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. She recommended two bottles of very nice Italian wine. We started with the burrata and then had our own pasta...I had the pappardelle with braised lamb shoulder. I thought... More

Finding excellence in the combination of menu, drinks and staff is a rarity. Perbacco has in spades.

We were invited by California friends to this restaurant and where totally overwhelmed by the quality of this food. Every dish we had was delicious, from the first to the last bite. Just perfect. The wines were perfect too, from the prosecco to the white that we had with the meal. And the service was perfect too, attantive without falling... More

I enjoyed a leisurely meal with a friend with absolutely wonderful food and attentive but not intrusive service. Pasta can be ordered as small or large plate. Pappardelle with lamb and peas was delicious. Sea scallop entree with a delicate citrus preparation was one of the best I've ever had. The salted dark chocolate bonet dessert was to die for.... Went here on a business trip on the suggestion of a coworker's friend -- and definitely had one of the best meals I've ever had. Their menus are printed fresh each day, so they don't tend to run out of their offerings -- I don't know if that means that the menu changes day to day based on ingredients and... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
