This place has great reviews so we decided to give it a try. It is very rare that I pay for a meal and end up feeling ripped off but that is exactly how I felt. The staff was very attentive and the service was great but the food was just not tasty. My husband and I had the Friends... More

Dinner was inventive and delicious and well worth the price tag. I loved every dish and the table had a hard time deciding on favorites. Wow! Desert was unloved, drinks were trying a bit too hard and it took time for our waiter to grow on us. I'm still rating it five stars because that food! Absolutely worth a visit.

Our daughter and future son-in-law recommended Bar Tartine for our night out in the city when my husband and I visited. It did not disappoint. The Friends & Family menu offers 3 courses (which were actually served as 4 courses) for a set price of $58 each. This is a reasonable price for the variety of taste treats we got.... More

Terribly expensive compared to quality of food and service.... Very reduced menu. Awful drinks (house cocktail Rose Geranium and soft drink Ginger Water). We could not finish them! Below average food (did not finish either) and average service.

I'd been meeting to eat at Bar Tartine forever, and finally made it in last night. It met, but did not exceed, my expectations. The atmosphere was nice - convivial but not too loud. The food was good (except dessert, but I'll get to that later). It honestly kind of reminded me of all the other trendy places in SF.... More

Cosy atmosphere good for family or business dinner. Everything is excellent: The bread, the camembert onion soup, the pizza, the burger the orechiette pasta... you will be indulged. The service is good but could be better for this restaurant

We were recommended to go here by our Airbnb host and we're so glad we did. The food is fantastic, all very fresh, innovative and so tasty. It is a bit privy at $58 per person but you get 4 generous courses for that. They're also very accommodating with dietary requirements and gave us separate dishes where needed as my... More

Having seen mixed reviews, and going with a friend who knows the owner I was not 100% convinced this was going to be a dining experience I would enjoy. Boy how wrong was I. From the greeting to the farewell everything was fantastic. We had the Motze Monday, where the chef prepares some of their favourite dishes along with something... More

We went to Bar Tartine last week to celebrate my birthday early, and were incredibly disappointed by the experience -- particularly due to the awful service. I had been to Bar Tartine once before and enjoyed the experience (and likely would've considered the experience 3-4 stars), but this was my boyfriend's first time at the restaurant and we both were...
