So many choices for seafood, my girls selected Nicks as they wanted crab bisque. The ambience is old Italian style with dim lighting, booths, red trim, our waiter personable, very busy, had to ask for bread and drink refills. We ordered the clam linguini, bisque and seafood cannelloni stuffed with crab & shrimp. No major complaints on the food, the bisque... More

This place is always buzzing. Had dinner here twice ON MY September visit and on the first night our waitress was fantastic and full of recommendations for food/drinks - she even recognised us the following evening and stopped by to make some suggestions. The second evening part of our order got mixed up but the lovely gent attending us sorted... More

My husband and I visited San Fran for a long weekend and always stop at one of the street vendors for chowder and a quick bite. We stopped at Nick's and had the crab cakes which were the best I have ever had anywhere! The clam chowder was accidentally served in a bread bowl and was ok but not my... More

A place concentrated on fresh seafood. Don't expect refinement but it's a jolly good place for having crabs, lobsters etc and washing them down with a bottle of California Chardonnay. Seating is simple, diner style, service absolutely adequate, just remember the place is orobably not a restaurant with a food stall attached but rather a food stall with a restaurant... More

They charged usd120 for a platter of seafood (which was not very fresh), added 15% tax and on top of all these another 15% service charge. The worst restaurant I have encountered after travelling in California for 2 weeks. Total bill come out to usd178 for 2 adults and 2 children.

Fresh live lobster cooked on the spot. $28 a pound, $3 for garlic butter (they also add shrimps). We were really lucky and got one with roe which is really rare. Delicious.

We were a party of two, with only one other table taken in the restaurant, on a slow Monday. We had to flag down our waiter for everything we needed, and the food was not good. Save your money and go anywhere else, and I mean anywhere.

Fresh seafood and old-time San Francisco charm makes this eatery a great place for a quick bite or a sit down meal in one of their booths that looks out over the bay. The friendly and experienced staff is extremely efficient, knowledgeable and polite. Good sized portions and reasonable prices for some delicious fresh vibrant meals. Nick's Lighthouse features a... I know by now that when you are a party of one at a restaurant you get the crappy table. I get it. I'm even fine with that. Overall I felt my server was totally uninterested in serving me or talking to me and the food was mediocre. My lobster bisque was not tasty at all. It seemed like it... More

We were looking for somewhere to eat after doing a night time Alcatraz tour and wanted something cheap. We were going to get take away from Nick's but then a man told us tables inside and we decided we wanted to sit down for a meal instead. We got a shrimp cocktail to share and then the 1/2 lobster tail... More
