This is a chunk of San Francisco that is not well publicized but worth the trip. You walk into 1940-50 San Francisco. The memorabilia makes the trip in worth while, even if you don't like the food...which would amaze me because they lay it out wonderfully. Good prices, good food, great history in a bar/restaurant across from the old Seals... More

I think the eggs over easy and the bacon are just the best! What's missing is a decent cup of coffee and tastier tomatoes to go with the eggs and bacon. Ambience is fabulous, and parking is easy because you can slip into the Potrero Center underground parking across the street. Most of the people in their are either off... More

I am retired and end up going to lunch once a month with about 4 groups. They are all fun and being in San Francisco the food is also great. By far the best food, the best deal and the best atmosphere is for is at The Double Play, located on 16th and Bryant across from the P{torero Hill Shopping... More

Only stopped off in here to rest weary legs and replenish liquids. There was a nice vibe in the bar. As it was an afternoon the friendly barmaid offer us the happy hour prices. Although just passing through I would certainly recommend this place if you find yourself in the Mission.

I stopped by the double play before a party. There was a great vibe, fun & engaging bar staff and overall upbeat atmosphere. I'm definitely heading back here for the breakfast burrito next time!

Old bar from when Seals Stadium used to be across the street. Most food on the menu is ok, nothing special, but the breakfast burritos are awesome. I always enjoy looking at the old photos and sports memorabilia.

Staying in Mission District

Neighbourhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the country.
