Ate here twice while in city. Had clam chowder and crab bisque in sourdough bowls. If you like crab and sourdough bread, this is way to go. Had the crab cake appetizer, crab cake sandwich, crab and shrimp pizza, tacos, beef stew and paella-all of which were excellent. Every dish is served with Boudin's just baked sourdough bread which is... More

The bread bowl is amazing. To be sure, it's more bread than soup but that's okay - the bread is amazing. The tomato soup is pretty good too... The breakfast taco left something to be desired as the waffle was a little too steamed for my tastes. It was soggy half way through the meal. Overall, a great spot to... More

Wow, it was so exciting. My husband loved taking pictures of what they could create with sourdough bread. We enjoyed our sandwich and sitting outside to watch all the activities.

This place is a landmark in SF. I've been to the area a few times but never stopped in to Boudin. I decided to give it a try. There is a full service restaurant upstairs and downstairs is a fast casual version. If you are looking for just chowder or a sandwich then get it downstairs as it is close... More

It was a really good experience. Were there for vacation and ended up there a couple of days after Christmas. Really good food. Recommend the chowders. If you like bread...that is a must go. If you are celiac, like one of us....though luck. There's nothing gluten free based on the fact that there's too much flour around....or at least that's... More

We went here as a recommendation for our trip. Upon arrival, there were fancy animal shaped breads in the windows and it was quite impressive! We walked inside and it was bright and airy. It was really busy but I guess that's just how it is in this location - we ordered a chilli in a bread bowl and a... More

We went to the restaurant upstairs. A lot open tables and many of us waiting. After we were seated we were hurried to order. Then a few minutes into the meal we were asked if we wanted anything else because the kitchen is closing. We were rushed and spent $150 for 3 people. I expect not to be pushed out... More

This is a great place to get a nice bread bowl and soup for lunch. It is extremely busy and noisy but food gets to you quickly.

Being at Fishermans Wharf it's only natural that clam chowder is on the menu. The dish is served in a bread bowl and the atmosphere is great. Get there early because it gets quite crowded. It is a fast food self serve restaurant. You go up to the counter, order your food and wait for your name to be called.... More
