We had lunch here one afternoon. There was a bit of a wait, but it was totally worth it. The food was ordered off a menu, unlike many dim sum restaurants where small carts come by and the wares are sampled. This did not detract...More

The place looked very authentic. Located in the middle of Chinatown and served by "locals". It claims to be trafitional since 1920 and I would believe it. Everything seemed honest (not to earn money from careless tourists like those places on Fisherman's wharf). The prices...More

Hang An coins itself as the oldest dim sum restaurant in America. Not easy to find as it is down a little alley, Hang Ah comes across as a greasy-spoon Chinese dive. We went based on the reviews and were not disappointed - the dim...More

Over the last 15 years we continue to come back just to this little hole in the wall restaurant when we visit San Francisco. I think it has changed hands a few times and each time it loses some of its charm. The wait staff...More

Went specifically for the dim sum. And we were not disappointed. Being the oldest dim sum restaurant in town, they stood up to their pedigree. Will go here again.

As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's
Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique

I believe that it is. This place claims to be the oldest continuous running dim sum house in San Francisco. Very good.
