Girlfriend and I wanted a quaint, quiet and romantic setting and we found it at the Allegro Romano. Food, wine and service were excellent although we were a bit curious why the electricity and lights went out sporadically during our visit. The owner was very...More

A beautifully set restaurant set in picturesque San Francisco. The food, the staff and the owner is amazing. Loved the food and will definitely go back some day, thanks!

We had a return to the old school style of restaurant, where personal service, delicious food, and a sense of intimacy abounds. Lorenzo, charming and engaging as always, sets the attitude for the staff with his warm embrace of service and friendliness. It's my favorite...More

Great food and wine in a romantic setting! The restaurant is small and situated so that every table has a stunning view of the Bay Bridge. The cuisine is upscale Italian with reasonable prices. The wine list has a nice mix of Italian and California...More

Went with a large group and left the food up to the owner. Everything he had delivered to the table from the antipasto to the desserts was outstanding. The wine list was very good, the service was accommodating and everyone enjoyed the experience.

Came here tonight with friends, we live nearby but hadn't been here. First, the food, so good, and super reasonable: We had the meatballs, beet/burrata salad and asparagus for apps, all delicious. A mix of pasta and secondi (filet mignon and lamb) and it was...More

A group of us recently had dinner at Allegro Romano and I'm thrilled we did! Their food is authentic and delicious, the location (in Russian Hill) is very convenient (at least for all of us), and the setting is intimate and comfortable. As a group...More

We recently visited our favorite neighborhood restaurant , Allegro Romano. As usual, we loved the Italian dishes starting with excellent first courses followed by truffle risotto and truffle fettuccine. Both were delicious! Our grandchildren were delighted with the meatballs and pasta. As great as the...More

Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential
neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner.
Combined with several great cafes, restaurants,
antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any
visitor would gladly leave their heart in San
Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down
Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world,
and make the slow creep downhill past charming period

I'm not sure, but I doubt it. I have been going there for almost 10 years. The food is fantastic. I would call the restaurant, ask for Lorenzo, the owner and ask him.
