We have been coming to A16 for 8 years now. The food is lovely and the service is impeccable. You must try their delicious maccaronara, and their panzanella.

Pizza is good but staggeringly expensive. Wine list looks to be 3X retail. Very noisy $16 for 3 chicken meatballs But the worst was when booking they asked if this a special occasion. I said yes it was a milestone birthday for my wife. 4...More

Overall Excellent food and a GREAT wine list but restaurant is loud so if you are looking for a quiet date spot there are much better restaurants available.

quite busy place, but found a place at the counter in the back. while the reception was less than welcoming, the service was excellent and from my vintage point I could see the food being prepared by the young chefs and the excellent pizzaiolo. and...More

Took clients and colleagues to A16 based on reviews. Pizza made a big impression - folks still raving about it a day later. But otherwise food was average. I had the gnocchi which was ok. A noticed the paltry portions served to my guests so...More

Unfortunately, A16 was not worth the drive to San Francisco. We were greeted by smiling maitre'ds but from then on the service was horrible, rolling eyes at salt request, throwing plates on the table with no explanation, and a combination of impersonal and lack of...More

I don't know where this restaurant gets its attitude. I understand the concept of 'a regular' and giving good attention to them. But how does this restaurant expect anyone to want to come back if they treat them poorly on a first visit. Though my...More

Upscale, a bit expensive, but consistently good pizza and atmosphere. Personally I don't love the 'california style' toppings but here they seem to work.

Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

There was at least one gluten free pasta I remember on the menu. But you will probably do best by calling the restaurant directly for any special dietary concerns.

Description
A16 is a restaurant and wine bar bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. The restaurant features wood oven-fired Neapolitan Pizza and other specialties of Campania such as Maccaronara with ragu napoletana and house-made ricotta salata. The wine bar serves 40 wines by the glass and half bottle carafe. The list is 60 percent Italian, mostly from the South, and the other 40 percent is New World, celebrating premiere Italian varietals grown in California along with many California wines.
