Came to Tartine with very high expectations. I was so excited to try it since a lot of people had been raving about it. We got to the bakery, got in line and patiently waited for our turn. You can smell the freshly baked goods while waiting. I wanted to they the Banana Cream Tart but they didn't have it... More

This bakery has a little of everything you may be in the mood for. They have brea, pastries, and drinks. I love the open space with natural lighting and the sweet staff.

Prepare for a line. Come hungry. Decide your lunch order. Then be tempted by the dessert display case on your way to the order counter and cashier. Get ANYTHING from the case. Eat it while you wait for your order at one of the communal tables. Strawberry fruit tart was superb as was the devils food cake. Any of their... More

Staff could care less - oh well good out shines the "cool" factor behind the counter. Why play tunes that are so good, serve such good product and staff with the slowest group on the planet. Yes I still stop by just don't get it?

This bakery is so well known it's known for it's line. Be prepared to wait in line to get to the pastries, but they are so very worth it. They also have the best coffee if you like coffee that isn't bitter.

We had a 25 Minute wait, but service was quick, not overly friendly but perfectly ok. Spicy turkey sandwich was delicious, chocolate pudding and the morning bun, too. The pain au chocolat was not too sweet which i really liked.

Lines around the block let you know that this must be a great bakery. In a "Foodie" town this place is a cut above. Can't wait till they open a place in the East Bay

The long queue was worth it, when it comes to the bread and the chocolate hazelnut tart. However, the grilled sandwich with pecorino and almonds was a disaster - it was so greasy that the fat was literally dripping out.

Tobi, Anne & I visited for sweets & coffee in the late afternoon, and were not disappointed. We tried the chocolate cake, hazelnut torte, and macaroons; in my opinion the latter were the best. Coffee was fresh, hot, and perfect for this rainy afternoon. The breads looked excellent and the bakery also serves sandwiches & wines. Their cookbooks are also... More
