We came for a Valentine's dinner which cost us $200, but Hubby ordered a glass of French red wine and they charge health care tax which added to the meal cost. It was a 3 course prix fixed dinner for $85 per person, with 3 options for appetizer, main and 2 options for dessert. The place is rather tiny, seating... More
I had driven by Cocotte a few times in the evening and was drawn by the glow that seemed to emanate from its windows. Finally, my family group of four had dinner there this past December. The warm flattering light and the glow of the copper pots on the wall make everyone look their best. The wine list is vast,... More
A friend and I selected this restaurant, a participator in SF's restaurant week, for their 3 course tasting menu dinner- offered at the absolute steal of a price $40. A very intimate space with a limited number of tables, even though we had made a reservation (using OpenTable.com) we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. We found this acceptable,... More
We returned here after a long break for the $40 restaurant week dinner, consisting of three courses. The food was okay, with the osso bucco recommended, The tarte tatin and molten chocolate cake were average at best. The main annoyance was the hostess; she has to go. Despite the restaurant being empty, she sat us next to the only table... More
We returned to this lovely little restaurant on Hyde St for the second Christmas Eve celebration here. Christmas Eve 2015 was our first visit there and we had decided to return there for this year (thinking we had started a tradition). It is still a lovely spot, but I have to be honest and say that we were disappointed by... More
My girlfriend walked in first while I parked car for an early reservation at 5:30. Even though only one other couple was in the restaurant they would not seat her till I arrived and made her wait at the bar. She ordered a glass of bubbles while she waited and the bartender/manager convinced her to try their special overly sweet... More
Came for a business dinner and since we had an early reservation the manager rushed us through the motion. I can't blame him since he needs to turn tables but we kept ordering drinks and ended up with a $230 check for the two of us. I ordered mussels as an appetizer and they were just ok - not what... My wife and I had dinner Saturday evening. The food was extraordinary. the service was way above average, and the atmosphere enchanting.
One of our favorite restaurant. We've been here several times on special occasions. We specially like their roasted chicken and salad. The place is very small and the tables are too close to each other. The servings are small and pricey but delicious. They have a wide selection of wine. It is located in a nice neighborhood of San Francisco.... More
