Tucked away not to far from the financial district is this great little restuarant. The dark wooden tables, dim lighting and warm friendly staff made this an enjoyable evening. The appetizers: white garbanzo bean and calamari were flavorful, the crab salad, and mushroom pizza were...More

I have been to Piperade several times. The acclaimed octopus appetizer is a stew and sometimes the octopus is grilled then stewed and other times a rubbery mess. The Pork Cheek dish is awful. Overdone shoe leather. They run out of ingredients and dishes so...More

Very disturbing experience. A 38 dollar bottle of wine was charged as 85 dollars on the bill. They tried to convince us that this was correct and only after repeated assertions did they acknowledge that their calculation was WRONG. No apologies, no attempts to compensate...More

An authentic French atmosphere and the Head Chef, Gerard is very hands on and was happy to discuss the excellent wine menu and to serve us with our choice. Delicious food with something to suit most tastes (I am vegetarian).

The Basque-inspired food here was excellent, and the atmosphere is quiet/refined with prompt and friendly service. My husband (he's taken foodie courses at CIA) was in awe of the rack of lamb meal he choose. It was a great place for us to dine and...More

But not really of the quality you might find in San Sebastian! Decent quality but not memorable quality food or service.

A big fan of Chef Gerald, every time we come to SF, we dine at Piperade. Was thrilled that Chef is STILL serving amazing flavors even though our last visit was a decade ago. We ordered the namesake dish which set the stage for classic...More

Loved the food. Went twice to this restaurant during our trip to SF. Their piperade is very good but the best are the desserts! Highly recommend the chocolate cake and the Creme Caramel Renversee that actually tastes like a creme caramel :)

Choose Piperade for Spanish food prepared with a contemporary flair. The dining room is beautiful and the atmosphere is sophisticated. Excellent venue for a romantic dinner.

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
