Of all the Italian restaurants around North Beach for pizza, this has got to be the best! It's always fresh and hot! The sauce is amazing and the focaccia crust makes it something special. It beats all the other pizza I've had in the Bay Area! Actually, one of the top pizza's I've ever had anywhere! Expect a line but... More

The 20 min line was well worth the wait for these pizza slices! They are delicious cheesy bites of heaven. Also good if you are on a budget.

Yum! Found this small pizza joint in North Park. Small place with good music, good pizza and friendly staff. The root beer on tap is not one to pass up. These guys do pizza right: thick dough, plenty of cheese and toppings! The place inside is a little small so if you don't like being in tight spaces, get it... More

Golden boy serves pizza by the slice. It is so good, that after 6 pm there is a line waiting outside to place an order. I had mentioned it to my friend from Arkansas, and when he finally went to this place, he could not stop talking about it. each time I go, I always send me a picture of... More

Our tour guide on the Vantigo Tours recommended a couple pizza spots. My 11 year old niece thought one of them sounded like a Must Have... Unfortunately neither of us could remember the name... She did remember the description of the sign (lit hand pointing down to the door) and luckily I was able to track it down online. It... More

This is my favorite pizza joint in San Francisco; being from NY, I know a thing about good pizza and this is great pizza. You watch them make it fresh in the window. Sometimes there's a line but it goes fast. Great prices that can't be beat. Grab some slices to go, fully recommended.

Can't believe that being one of the top rated pizzerias they won't accept credit card for foreigners who want to try the best.

They only have 4 options to chose from but there all taste good, small place not enough room to walk or sit but it was worth the wait in the line to make your order.

Good music, nice service, delicious food. Is busy but the hosts are very quick and really welcoming, they recommended us what to eat.

We found the place by looking for good reviews and were not disappointed! Anytime there's a line out the door, it has to be good, right? We didn't have to wait long and the pizza was excellent.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
