We wanted to have breakfast in a deli and this place came up high on Trip Advisor and was an easy ride on Muni from our hotel! First things first...this is a real old school Jewish deli (which are a dying breed)! They bake their...More

Traditonal Jewish kosher eats, huge sandwiches...corned beef, pastrami, beef tongue, roast turkey, chopped liver piled high on rye or brown bread, tasty knishes, giid matzo ball soup, smoked herring, sturgeon and sable fish. Dr. Briwn's sodas and egg creams!

Had breakfast here on the recommendation of,my son and daughter and were not disappointed. Friendly and helpful staff, good atmosphere in the place and great service and food. We particularly liked the Challah bread. Would go back when next in SF

Yes, go there for your Rueben or your Pastrami sandwiches or anything else! In fact, just work your way down the menu! Nothing fails here.

Wonderful pastrami on rye sandwich, non mayo coleslaw and latke with sour cream and apple. Waiter must have excelled in extrovert academy. Brought home some challah bread. A good experience.

My mom always said if you cannot say anything nice just stop talking. I decided facts are facts. I ordered a sandwich with no bread as I am a celiac. The owner of the restaurant caught wind of my order and decided to personally come...More

We were in San Francisco for 3 nights and during that time, we ate lunch twice, brought incredibly delicious rugalah and coconut macaroons 3000 miles across the country, and ordered Passover dinner for our son and daughter-in-law. I think that says a lot about this...More

While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its

Wise & Son doesn't call or refer to themselves as Kosher. It's unfortunate that the Jewish Museum, even a Contemporary Jewish Museum, couldn't find a vendor that was Kosher.
