Ate here for lunch recently and the food was amazing. I got the Marlowe Burger and I’m still thinking about it two days later. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Family members who live in SF treated us to dinner here during our recent visit. They had never been and decided it was a good time to try it. We researched the menu ahead of time and given its' high rating on Trip Advisor we were expecting it to be top notch. Atmosphere was pleasant, valet parking a plus, greeting... More

I was a little skeptical even though a Friend highly recommended this restaurant. But the food turned out to be good. Ordered the prawns and beef tartare as entree. Prawns were really yummy but the beef tartare was so so. Had better elsewhere. For the entrée, we had the chicken, beef and pork chop. All 3 were delicious! The sides... More

All in all it was good, was a bit shocking that the trout Benedict that cost $17 came with 1 egg!?!?!?! I've never ever seen that happen. We ended up having to order a third dish because we were.hungry! The waiter was a bit impatient, tied to hide it charmingly but ended up being quite snippety to me. I was... More

The service was impeccable, the food not so much. I found it ridiculous in its complexity and the combination of flavors. It could have been edited substantially and made for a better meal. We were a large group and so shared some appetizers. The fries were supposed to be dipped in an aioli, then in a soft-boiled egg topped with... More

Had a pretty good meal at Park Tavern. Initial experience was not great - took about 20 minutes to get our drinks after we ordered them, which for me is too long. After that things got better - the food was certainly good, but not necessarily special (compared to the price). The space itself is very nice, lends itself to... More

Co owned by kiwi Anna Weinberg this place was brilliant down to the finest detail. Awesome staff and the menu & wine list exceptional (only one NZ on the list though ) One thing that stood out for me was they let you taste the wines so you could decide at no cost It's off the beaten track on the... We recently celebrated a birthday with 14 family members. We had so much fun. The service was top notch and the food was mouth watering! The beef short ribs were super tender served with oh so fluffy potatos. The shrimp was tasty and the grits were spot on! Chorizo and eggs were delish. These comments were given by my family.... we were on a dine a round town with limited budget and this seemed to fit the bill $70 3 course wine and beer included. It was a bit dark to see all food delivered and we strayed into the main menu but worth it. FOIE GRAS TORCHON - worth getting over the ethics of it ,BRUSSELS SPROUT CHIPS -... More

We came here for Sunday brunch and we're impressed throughout the meal. The Bloody Mary was awesome. Started with the avocado toast which was full of flavor. Everyone enjoy their brunch including the burger and shrimp and grits. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area

Description
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter. Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week. Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
