Great location to meet up with friends. The Wine selection is good, menu is average. I enjoyed the Brussel sprouts, sun chokes and mushrooms.

Had dinner last week. Reservations are a must for dinner - it gets crowded. We had reservations and yet had to wait for over 30mts. Space is very crowded and inspite of the reservation, they squeezed us - pretty pathetic into a table for 4 - we were 5. Well - we could hear each other - that might have... More
Wandered away from the office for what I hoped was a quick meal. After a long wait, wandered into Barbacco, where I needed to wait for dinner. The hostess was nice as she could see I was agitated. Expensive for an everyday lunch - if someone didn't take me there I may not have gone on my own. Glad I went though. The food was fantastic. The hearts of romaine salad had such a great anchovy dressing. The heirloom tomato salad would have been perfect if not for the watermelon which had no business in the salad. The... More

Really surprised by the ratings here and perhaps I had a bad experience but nothing went well here. The restaurant was dated and noisy. The service was fine but nothing special. Really good Italian place in downtown San Francisco. Has a more swanky location next door (Perbacco), but this little brother is just as good and more informal (many seats are at the bar). Original and uniformly excellent pasta and risotto plates.
