I was recently in SF and was very excited to go to this fine restaurant. I got a call that my mom may have had a strike and needed to cancel. Sinead Quach was extremely kind to me. I look forward to another visit and the opportunity to try this three Michelin Star experience! Julie

Everything about this experience was incredible. The ambiance, service, food were all outstanding, as is the price.

This is 3* Michelin restaurant that is so unique. Everything is Asian/Asian-inspired. The service was *perfect*. We were a lot younger than most of the other guests and I didn't feel like they were treating us like we were less important. Also, the interior is incredible - not cramped at all, like so many SF restaurants. Sleek, modern, and zen.... More

We had a great experience at Benu. I wanted so badly to give Benu a 5 star review; however, we also went to Saison during our trip to San Fran and thus can only award 4 stars. First, they only serve beer, wine, and sake. While not a real problem, the decision to pay a master sommelier and other regular... More

certainly a great food and wine experience (although I had taken a Terra Roja Cab from Linda Neal without knowing they had an amazing wine list -I am so sorry )but not my kind of a place but my invitees loved it. That's all what matter

Met two other couples for an indulgent reunion. Service was outstanding - a small army of servers, clearers, & placesetters attend to the constant changing of courses, plates and utensils and seem to anticipate your needs before you do. The food was varied, fun and unusual - the 8 course tasting menu actually stretched to about 13 courses with many... More

We Dined at Benu on February 2nd. We were excited about the upcoming experience, but we left disappointed, and a lot lighter in the wallet...three (3) people, $1,640.52 lighter. Now folks, I'll say, these guys are really good, exceptional even, in the presentation of all of their dishes. There were many works of art put in front of us that... More

It is hard to describe this restaurant because it is so varied and complex. The food and wine pairings are the best you will experience. Yoon the wine director is a master sommelier who pares beverages with the food and does it brilliantly. Our food included some of the most esoteric choices ranging from sea urchin to a thousand year... More

We have been dining in Benu ever since it opened and we one of the first guests at the then new restaurant. Since then, we have returned three times and this was our fourth time - and as always, the food, service and the presentation of the individual dishes are truly outstanding. Yes, the restaurant is pricey but then again,... More

I have been to many upscale restaurants in the past especially in New York City, some in major European cities as well. This three star Michelin restaurant tops them all. The creativity and use of food was done to very high standards. The quality of food is also exquisite. I have a few first time food that I have never... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
