We were miles early for our dinner reservation, so, rather than wait, we sat at the chef's table, in front of the open kitchen. Sitting on bar stools wasn't all that comfortable; on the other hand, we were able to get a really close up...More

Really enjoyed this place, great space, very very good food, staff and clientele. Fried chicken, deviled eggs and seafood tower were exceptional!

My wife and met our daughter in the city and took her to lunch at Wayfare. We fell in love with the restaurant as we stepped through the door. The decor is beautiful and leaves you with the feel that you stepped into a wonderful,...More

Great place downtown. Fun atmosphere. We ate main level near kitchen in huge booth for 7. So many great food surprises: popovers, tartare, deviled eggs, chilled lobster, beverre steak and more. Third and fourth floors fabulous and would be great for private party. Fun cocktails...More

What should have been a pleasant business lunch, catching up, industry chat, turned into a "what not to do" in terms of managing your customers experience. We were seated at noon, 15 minutes after our 11:45 reservation. We've both eaten at Wayfare Tavern many times,...More

After initial teething issues, we really enjoyed our evening here. It's a busy place and on arrival it was clear that something had gone awry with our reservation. Given this was the last night of a long trip through California, I was not pleased especially...More

Super excited to go. Had heard amazing things. The atmosphere and decor was lovely. That's about where it ended. The service was snotty and rude from the hostess to the managers. Our server and another employee stood in a corner and snickered at guests most...More

Reminiscent of an old English tavern with lots of charm. Busy and crowded .... we had a drink at the bar before being seated. It is a tavern atmosphere not a restaurant. The food is substantial and suits the environment.

Being recommended here by a friend, we made reservations. We were taken upstairs to a small table. Our waiter was informative. He told us to get the deviled eggs as an appetizer. They were creamy but bland. I ordered a butter lettuce salad, small but...More

This restaurant has an upscale pub feel but it's nicer than that. Eat upstairs if you can as it's a beautiful room inclusive of wood paneling, a gorgeous bar and an amazing flower arrangement. The food is good, service is fine, too. The star is...More

Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but
can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s
version of Wall Street. The rush of business people
make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of
life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the
narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of
historic and contemporary architecture, including the
iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours,
