Went for lunch on a recent business trip. The waiter kept joking (at least I thought he was joking) about how good the fried rice was. He kept going on and on about it. So.....gave it a try and it was fantastic. There was a crunch to it (it was a good thing) that was unique. No loads of soy... More

This place is conveniently located by the convention center. The green papaya salad is the best I had in US. The spring roll and and creamy peanut sauce was excellent. The beef pho and vegetables pho are good, except the noodle is too soft. Perhaps they are more rice in the ingredients. Overall good value if you are not on... More

I visit San Francisco every year for a meeting at the Moscone Convention Center. Last year was the first time I tried this restaurant and returned here again this past week. To sum it up, the food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and if you are at the convention center you cannot get more convenient as it is right... More

On my way to a meeting at the Moscone and wanted something light and different. I had the sweet and sour shrimp soup and it was delicious. Quick and friendly service.

This is a small restaurant right around the corner from the Convention Center handy for a quick lunch for those attending a meeting. I had the cubed filet with potatoes. The beef was in tender chunks. I was skeptical about the potatoes but they were in small chunks with crispy outsides, tender in the middle. The beef/potatoes were served with... More

After two weeks traveling through Nevada and Arizona we've been craving some delicious and fresh food. We had the vegetarian spring rolls, veggie pho and vegan sweet and sour "chicken". Everything we ordered was brought out quickly, delicious and hot. Tonnes of fresh veggies and full of flavor without feeling like health food. I'll definitely be back.

Came here for lunch. We had Pho and Bun. My husband and friend thought the Pho was very good. I had the chicken Bun. It was the largest portion of meat and noodles that I have ever gotten in a Bun. The only negative was they left the skin on the chicken. We will return.

In a place surrounded by corporate businesses Green Papaya, a family-owned and operated restaurant is a breath of fresh air. Walking into this place, you would assume that it was just another chain restaurant, only to learn that it is a local business. The owner is extremely friendly and he made it feel like a very intimate, personal experience as... More

Delightful restaurant with, to me an unusual menu. Good food. Many vegetarian items but offered meat as well. Good Service. Easy walking distance from the Marriott Marquis.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
