Just wanted something quick & healthy to eat while walking, so I stopped by Panera Bread. All the salads at all the Panera Breads I've been to taste the same - delicious! It is pricey for a full size salad - $10.79 + tax, and $2.39 for a soft drink, but it's a known commodity and healthy eating. They also... More

Great sandwiches, salads and service. Nice outside eating area but the wind prevents dining there most of the time. The restaurant is clean, open and has great full length windows for people watching. The service is as fast as it gets. I would go there much more often but the place is too darn expensive for my taste!

This established chain is not so ubiquitous this side of the US. This branch has a prime location next to Caltrain at the junction of King and 4th St. Typical layout, allowing you to order to go or sit and eat on site while waiting for travellers to arrive nearby. Recommend the take 2 offer (half sandwich/half soup or salad)... More

Because I have to eat dairy-free, eating out can be a challenge. Arthur at Panera went out of his way to check on the veggie soup with pesto and make sure to keep the pesto off for me when he saw there was dairy in it. The staff is always friendly when we go in this restaurant, and the service... More

We ate a number of times at Panera as it was conveniently located to our son's apartment and we were in town for a very short stay. We love the variety of items on the menu. The staff is helpful and the service was quick. We ate in the dining area and got take out. Very enjoyable.

This location had a very friendly staff. My husband and I both had the pick 2. My chicken noodle soup and my husband's chili were excellent. I had the Thai salad. It was good and my husband enjoyed his turkey flatbread sandwich. The cookies were very good.

Panera Bread is one of my "old reliables" as far as chain restaurants go. I've been to many and would rate most highly....except this location. The individual taking my order was unfriendly to the point of rude, the dining room appeared dirtier than most, and the final straw was the overall quality of the salad. It was noticeably less fresh... More

As I was using the t-line in San Fran alot, found this a great place to stop. Very clean, great service and excellent food. The caesar salad was an absolute delight. I should of asked for less ranch dressing though.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
