Bad food, terrible service. The restaurant was quite empty for a Saturday night. Waiter said they couldn’t make two plates instead of one for me and my mom to share and said that could only split the check in equal amounts between the people on...our table of 6, some had wine and others didn’t. When the check came it had already the 20% tip added, which is ok but the waiter questioned my brother about it. Be careful.More

After all the years and places this is my first one star review. The service was poor and the food was fair at best. However it was the billing practice that was questionable. The subtotal on the bill was $282.00 for 5 people The SF...mandate (not mandatory) $14.00 was first, then the Service C for 6 people $56.00. That's 20%. We were five people. Then one more Service C was another $56.00 or 20% for poor service. Then $35.00 in tax which is required. Total became $444.00 . None of which was mentioned before hand. The taxes we knew. Then when the bill was to be shared with two credit cards the separate receipts listed an amount and the little table of suggested gratuities. It did not mention the previous 42 % in additional charges. So without reviewing the itemized receipt you would never know you had paid a Service C of 20% and then another Service C charge of 20%. Shaky is my polite word for their approach. Never again !More

As someone whose grandfather was born on Italian soil and who grew up on Croatian coast (just across Adriatic from Italy), this really is the most authentic Italian food I have found in a long while. Focaccia is to die for. You could literally have...a proper feast on that wonderful fluffy goodness alone. All dishes are authentic, right down to touch of corn / semolina on the pizza. Parma ham and figs reminded me of my nonna, no messing around, no “our take on” just a classic, perfect as it has been for centiares classical dish. Don’t make a mistake I did and not leave room for the dessert… I now have chocolate blots all over my hotel bed, as tiramisu was so good, I practically inhaled it but thousands of chocolate shavings went flying… definitely better enjoyed in the buzzing atmosphere at the restaurant. Bonus point: it’s not too dark as restaurants often are on the pretence of “atmosphere”. I hate, HATE eating my dinner squinting - food should be enjoyed visually too! It’s so nice to see an upmarket place get that balance between not being lit like a doctor’s surgery but not making you have to guess what you’re eating right. Thank you Tratto :)More

Went for dinner, was a little bit early but was allowed to sit down with a drink. Had the cannelloni which was excellent. For dessert tiramisù, also very good. Service was good. Not an inexpensive restaurant but good quality. Recommended.

Food was terrific. Service was ok, empty glasses at some points. They also add gratuity on a party of 6, and not explained very well. Overall great experience.

We entertained a client during the healthcare conference. We were offered three choices for lunch. One was already sold out at 12:05. We were handed a cardboard box with a cheap sandwich, a cold terrible side dish, an orange and a cookie and a bottle...of water. Plastic utensils. It was like prison food. It was not only terrible food and service but it cost $75 each and they forced a a large mandatory tip. $450 for four people. Absolute scam and rip off. Unbelievable. Never again.More

We fancied Italian but didn’t want to walk far so settled for an Italian menu restaurant attached to a big hotel. Good choice. No reservation but seated immediately. The menu is not enormous but what we had was first class. Delicious crusty Foccaccia with oil...and vinegar to dip, excellent risotto with pancetta and affogato to finish. But beware they were turning people away by 8:30! This place is worth a visit, just go early!More

Really great local pizza / pasta restaurant. Absolutely delicious pasta, really good pizzas with light dough and good choice of starters to share. Would definitely recommend

Just happened upon this place near our hotel. Everything was delicious. Salad, ravioli, hamburgers, pastas. The sauce was amazing. Our service was slightly slow but we were just relaxing at the end of the day anyway.

Walked here for dinner. Had the Tagliatelle and Chicken Breast for dinner. Drinks were good and dessert (Tiramisu) was good. Service was also very good. Personally, I like more room between tables...we were 2 feet away from the tables on both side of us which...made for us getting to know our neighbors.More

Really don't like, when you enter nice restaurant where its better to make a reservation, ask for good table in the corner and you are told, that its reserved by somebody else before, but nobody ever comes to sit there. Instead of staff being kind...and remind you, that maybe other reservation is canceled, so you can still sit there, nobody actually cares. So we got table in the middle between two tables and we had to hear people talking the whole time, because other tables were quite close to one another. Expect more from restaurant like this one. Otherwise regarding food not much to say, its OK without any significant flaws.More

Tratto was within walking distance of our hotel, however, we didn't realize they have a huge theater crowd. Restaurant was crowded (which is OK) but noisy. We knew we wanted Italian dishes and our waiter wasn't very helpful with the wine selection. Luckily the manager...helped deliver our appetizer (Bruschetta) and he recommended an excellent wine. Food was really good, service was quick but overall, kinda pricey for our total meal (less the wine). If you're in the Union Square area, you may want to consider but remember the theater is close by and gets very full.More

This hotel restaurant uses the lobby restrooms for patrons. Hotel security, the self-professed manager of security, followed me in to the bathroom and demanded to know who I was without identifying himself. The hotel manager added nothing of value to the conversation when I reported...the harassment. Regardless, a hotel and restaurant should not have a policy for their security staff to harass bathroom-using guests.More

3.5* Tratto Part of the Marker Hotel Went there for Happy Hour; the expressionless waiter told us that the HH seating was at the bar or at the high tables. We sat down at the latter. Waited for ten minutes. No service. Still mellow. We...go over and sit at the bar. The tatted bartender was also unresponsive. We felt like we had traveled into the Twilight Zone. However, another barista from the other side came over to assist. His name was Luis and he was the best. Great service, friendly, solicitous The chopped salad was great. The steak skewers were just okay The “fried chicken” sliders were deadly; recommend House red wine very good The chocolate cake dessert recommended by Luis was the bomb; highly recommend Place gets crowded fastMore

Very average food, presentation poor, service mediocre. The minestrone soup should be avoided. All in all, an expensive disappointment!
