Service was very good as was the food. Hanger steak salad was great as were the chili dogs. Place is loud but it is a bar after all.

We were glad we stopped at this tavern for lunch and a drink. The poutine with tater tots served in a giant bowl made us very happy. Get it!

Extremely rude people. Went because it was the only place "open late night" and the bartender was extremely rude when I asked questions about the menu. Don't waste your time. The Little As sports bar and pizzeria is open late night and has extremely friendly bartenders and waitresses.

When returning to your home town, generally you expect things to change, but this once fun little hometown bar has taken a very bad turn for the worse. Me and a friend came in for a few drinks and opted to start a tab since we wanted a few drinks. We chatted with the people and I was catching up... More

So, where to begin...? Both Kevin and I made, saw, and watched you order and drink 4 Patron margarita, including the one you spilled all over the bar and broke the glass it was in, which is why the next one you had came in a plastic cup. And yes, you're going to get charged for the one you spilled.... More

Well, if you are looking for a place to have a few cocktails, go no further than the Dog and Pony it is truly quite a show! The bartenders were entertaining and attentive. The beer was cold and the drinks well made and stiff. The atmosphere was reminiscent of any great college bar, lots of people having a good time.... More

Went here off season on recommendation from Geddys, (one of the few restaurants open) as the only "hoppin" place to go for a drink. It has a local feel with wooden seats and tables and a few bar games to keep you occupied. We danced, although there isn't technically dancing, but the bartenders were nice enough to play some good... More

This was a quaint little tavern in this quaint town. We were there at a time no one else was. The lobster roll was completely lobster (nothing else). While that is amazing, I was interested in finding a typical lobster roll. I did find one later on in my cruise.

Thought this place was a hidden gem but apparently it has been found! Was crowded and noisy. Instead of staying to eat we just finished our drinks & went somewhere else for dinner.

Visited Bar Harbor in January, when a lot of the bars and restaurants are mothballed for the season, which we expected. It meant that this place was busier, since it was one of the only ones open. Created a warm, busy atmosphere in a quiet town. The Dog and Pony was recommended by our hotel clerk, and we went there... More

Description
The Dog and Pony Tavern is a unique dining and drinking spot that is hidden in a cluster of trees off the beaten path in Bar Harbor. Those who are adventurous enough to find it will enjoy cheap but delicious cocktails and meals in the "treehouse" beer garden, outdoor gazebo bar, or may find themselves at the indoor dining area watching the day's sports game. D 'n P (as the locals call it, short for Dog and Pony) opens at 11:00 am for lunch and drinks and stays open until 1 am! Food is served until 12:00am, but after the tavern closes at 1 am in the summer, a take out window opens, and food is available from 1am 'till approximately 2am. It's a great peaceful place to eat and drink during the day and a happening night spot after the sun sets. In 2010, Dog and Pony was voted #1 Patio Dining and #1 Night Spot! Locally owned and operated, the DnP offers a unique Bar Harbor experience you can't find anywhere else!
