One of our family's most valued life experiences is great food. You will find it here. It is our opinion that this was the best food we found in the Bar Harbor Region. We will book about a month ahead in the high season. Yes it's that good.

On October 12, 2016, I and a companion had dinner at Burning Tree. (Throughout the evening, hopeful diners were turned away at the door for lack of a reservation, so be advised.) Service was prompt and friendly, but even more important was the excellence of the food: imaginative, fresh-tasting, well prepared and well presented. For those who like specifics, I... More

I found this place by reading reviews on tripadvisor. You did not let me down! It's not in town but not that far outside of the main downtown area. Well worth the short drive. Doesn't look like much on the outside but the inside is beautiful and the menu extensive. Very high quality food!

My husband found the Burning Tree restaurant while on a bicycle ride around Acadia National Park and the surrounding area.  He stopped in before they were open for the day and liked what he saw and decided to make a reservation for dinner for us that night.  I will admit I am a bit more Plain Jane with food and... First, you need to make reservations to this restaurant as high quality is in demand. Food, cocktails were inspiring, full of flavor to enjoy, and made out of high quality ingriedients. Service was attentive, professional, and fast. Glad this restaurant was there for us to enjoy after a day of hiking.

We stopped by for Lunch after the morning at Acadia NP & we are glad we did. The Lobster Stew was fantastic & the views at the back were gorgeous.

During this year's vacation in MDI we visited The Burning Tree twice. Both times the service was excellent, the drinks inventive and honest, and the food was superb. Ingredients are still sourced from their garden and local purveyors, combined thoughtfully and served attractively. Far and away one of the best restaurants in the area. As stated elsewhere you have to... More

I was last to join a party of 4. I was disappointed the waiter didn't ask if I would like a drink. I had planned on wine but didn't bother to ask. The meal was excellent although a bit unusual. It was a generous Cod filet over a mashed potato mixture. The presentation of everything was lovely.

I found the menu on the internet but no date...the prices are higher so apparently it was an old menu. This is an interesting, quaint house type restaurant out in the country. I didn't know it but they close for the season tomorrow, so we were lucky to get here for a first visit. The staff was very attentive and... More

I convinced my family to take a break from the lobster rolls and try the burning tree based on great reviews. Not only was the cost of the meal 3x what we spent everywhere else in bar harbor, the service was average and the food was worse. Scallops were so overdone they had the texture of chicken and fish was... More
