We visited as part of a week long stay in Bar Harbor. I understand that this dish is hard to do wrong, but the Lobster Pasta with garlic butter sauce (with lobster bisque appetizer) was one of the most delicious things I ate the whole trip. Husband is not a seafood fan and suffered for it on this trip, but... More

Food was average; service was slow; compared to other restaurants in the area it was disappointing. Within walking distance to Bar Harbor Grand Hotel

We visited Poor Boy's Gourmet during our 7 day stay in Bar Harbor. We started out with cocktails: I had a Cadillac Cosmo ($9) and my wife had a MDI Sunset (also $9). The drinks were very good. My wife had a small tossed salad ($4.99) and I ordered a full order of steamers. Unfortunately, they were out of steamers... More

Seriously bummed that they did not have the Bouillibase we went there for. Despite that we enjoyed our meal - Mustard Shrimp appetizer was great; my Lobster Carbornara had generous amounts of lobster; my wife thought her Salmon was very good.

I was happy to find a quality place to eat, and as there early so they had special deals for certain items. Everything was fresh and hot. I had the crab cake for an appetizer. It was pretty spicy, but tasty. I had the chicken parmigiana, which was fabulous. I ordered the homemade blueberry pie for dessert. Strangely, it was... More

This is not a fancy restaurant. It is clean and comfortable. The service was attentive. The food was very good. I had the Lobster Scampi. Big chunks of lobster. Wife had the Salmon and enjoyed her meal as well. She really liked the blueberry margarita. We shared a cream puff for dessert. It was great. Overall a good dinner.

Went there for a quick meal after a long day of sightseeing. Lobster carbonara was good but the chicken dish seemed pre-made. Lack of taste. Couple next to us did not even finish their food.

We arrived at Poor Boy's during Happy Hour (4-6). They have an early bird menu and a variety of lobster and pasta dishes. My husband had lobster scampi, served over linguini, with garlic butter peas (cold broccoli vinaigrette was also available). I ordered a chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto, Havarti (couldn't find the cheese?) and one spear of asparagus, served... More

YOU MUST COME HERE! Yep. A full 2 blocks out of the action (maybe 3), people aren't lined up here and THEY SHOULD BE! A varied and well thought out menu, excellent preparation, great service, NO LINES (by no means empty, but that should change). Outstanding seafood chowder, Maine crab cakes, stuffed haddock, flourless chocolate cake. All to die for.... More

The stuffed haddock and salmon we had was fantastic. Drinks were strong as well, The Blueberry Margarita was delicious. Wait service could have been more attentive,
