Imagine going to Cabo and saying, "Hey, let's go get Hawaiian!" It's not hard to see where i'm going. That's not to say, this place is awful, because it's not but if you don't live here just wait until you get back home. Now, if Chi Chi's is the best your home town has to offer then eat here. Being... More

Very small but very good Mexican food better than most others in the area , no parking warning , would rate higher but when i went the service was a little slow for such a small place but the food is very good .

Thank goodness for El Palenque! Whenever we have a hankering for Mexican food, we go there. The regular clientele is made up of soldiers stationed at Schofield and Wheeler. The place is tiny and has only 6 or 8 tables. The decor is identical to what you would see in a mom-n-pop Mexican place in Texas. We have liked everything... More

I ate at El Palenque today with a friend after hearing several great reviews from coworkers. I was a little hesitant after trying horrendous Mexican food on island. This place, however, did not disappoint! I ordered a mixed plate of a beef enchilada and a chicken chimichanga, which came with a side of rice and beans and a salad. When I... More

Authentic spice and ingredients. Prices are fantastic for the proportion. Some of the friendliest staff on island. Stop reading and go try it out, worst case youll be full and out $10.

Great food but not the best seating, only have 8 tables so if your party is bigger than 4 you'll have to sit at 2 different tables. If you love Mexican food you will enjoy El Palenque and their servers are wonderful.

The wife and I were brought to this restaurant by relatives that live nearby and it turned out to be the best Mexican restaurant that we had on Oahu; out of three total. The pork chili verde was delicious, and I asked for the hottest sauce they had, which was incredibly hot. Beyond Thai hot, but not quite Ghost Pepper... More

I live for Mexican food and there are different types of Mexican food. Sometimes I want that American type and sometimes I want that home style traditional Mexican. I have been going to El Palenque for years and it never fails to satisfy my craving for authentic Mexican. A tip: because I am so dang needy I tend to order... More

Came to this little hole in the wall for lunch. Food to me was tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed the Guacamole. Real fresh and yummy. The salsa was too hot for my taste buds. The service was fast and friendly. I will return and try something new. When the food is freshly prepared you don't mind being adventurous. The... More

I was very impressed with the taste of the salsa, and the food porsupuesto! I am half Mexican so I think I know Mexican food when I taste it. I ordered the mole platillo, it is a very tasty mole, not to be confused with mole poblano. The serving are extremely big, so come hungry. My friend had the tamales... More
