We had heard discussions about which garlic shrimp from a truck stand was better, Fumi’s or Giovanni’s. So of course, we had to try both. Giovanni’s shrimp scampi was marinated in olive oil, garlic and lemon butter served with rice. The extra lemon butter tasted...delicious with the rice. Fumi’s shrimp was as flavorful but tasted drier than Giovanni’s. Our family preferred Giovanni’s.More
No trip to the North Shore is complete with a shrimp truck stop. Most people visit the trucks in Haleiwa or that ones across from Sharks Cove but Fumi’s is off the beaten path. We drove by what we thought was Fumi’s shrimp truck and...it appeared to be closed but we continued further down the road and found that the location had changed and it was no longer a truck. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Shrimp and it was the perfect around of spicy. It was delicious and messy. Luckily they have a sink where you can clean up afterwards.More
Since the shrimp were very overcooked my last 2 visits to Giovanni's, I decided to give Fumi's a try. Well, they were overcooked too. My partner's were as well and we debated whether or not to bring them back to the window. We each tried...a second one and it was better, but the third one was more overcooked than the first one. You don't get a dozen shrimp like at Giovanni's, more like 7, so we thought it would be bad manners to return the orders after eating almost half of the 7 shrimp. Another surprise was the corn, which was ICE cold. Sorry to say I won't be going back there. We heard a couple at the next table raving about the shrimp. Does the rest of the world LIKE them to be chewy and tasteless?More
Stop on Nui Tours Island Circle Tour. Lunch was a good value, shrimp, rice, canned corn, pineapple for $11. Not a fan of farm raised shrimp but their garlic and spice on #4 was tasty. Large shaded dining area with picnic tables, restrooms, and proper...wash up area.More
This is a must to everyone! Best shrimp around. A variety of flavors. Shrimp is huge. You will not be disappointed. We came with our tour the first time. If you are in a hurry call ahead with your order.
We were able to eat at this famous shrimp truck in Kahuku because this is the lunch stop of our Oahu full day tour. The butter garlic shrimp is simply excellent. It simply does not come as fresh and juicy as the shrimps they have...here. Be prepared to eat with your hands to remove the shell of the shrimp. The finger licking lunch will leave you wanting for more.More
This was our lunch stop on the North Shore tour. I had a feeling it was going to be good be the simplicity of the menu, which I've added as a pic to this review. I got the butter garlic, my wife got the chicken...(doesn't eat shrimp) and our friend got the spicy.
We arrived at a food shack, awesome! Behind it was a shrimp farm so you know the food is fresh. The food came out and the shrimp were ridiculously tasty. The whole meal was, sides and all, absolutely one of the freshest seafood meals I've ever had. And the butter garlic seasoning was perfectly proportioned to boot.
If you are a fan of shrimp, you MUST come here.More
We stopped at this shrimp truck stand because it wasn't as crowded as some others nearby. They are very efficient in taking orders and preparing it fresh as you wait at the picnic tables to call your number.
We ordered the butter garlic shrimp &...a side of local corn-on-the cob. IMO was the best; big juicy shrimp (prawn sized) and messy. There's an outdoor sink where you can wash up. Very satisfying and a great lunch stop.More

This part of Oahu supports a number of shrimp farms that is why these speciality shrimp eating outlets exist. There may have been possibly beef option though the shrimp shacks and trucks specialize in Shrimp mainly. It was pretty popular and you could smell the shrimp from a couple of kilometres away. mmmmmmmm
