It's charm, location, and great breakfast add up to a wonderful experience. We love the pancakes, even the syrup is fabulous.
Go early, plan to wait in line, and enjoy the amazing view while you do.
Trust us, you will love it.
The 2 hour wait was something I've never done before ever. Meeting the others in line was tremendous and previous visitors kept saying its worth the wait. Boy they couldn't be more right. The staff and food were equal in greatness.
This place was everything the reviews said it was! We got up early on our first day and made our way over for breakfast. We got there at 7:15 and there was already a line for the 7:30 opening. We were finally seated about 8:30....There are only 10 tables, so restaurant is small. But is well worth the wait, I promise! We had the most delicious banana macadamia nut pancakes Iv ever ate in my life! (This was actually my first time lol) I went with the suggestions on what to order and I was not disappointed. We got a side of fried rice and an order banana Mac nut pancakes and shared both. It was SOOOO GOOD!More
The food was very good, the servers were charming and efficient, the setting was beautiful, BUT…
This is a tiny place that attracts large numbers of patrons, good combination for business, not so good for customers. We waited well over an hour (they did provide...umbrellas to stave off the intense Hawaiian sun) in a long line beside an apartment complex pool. The restaurant also shares a portion of the small parking lot with folks living in the apartment complex. Too many people mean too many cars and not enough spaces even on adjacent streets. The name of the place reads “and bar” but there is no alcohol offered, so no mimosas to accompany breakfast. Bummer. And, for you food purists out there, the Eggs Benedict featured fried eggs instead of poached and was topped with cheese sauce, not Hollandaise, but it tasted great! Despite the line of people baking while waiting, we never felt rushed through our meal. Service was fast and efficient, but not rushed. Prices were very modest compared to the norm on Maui (read expensive!), and portions were very generous. Large parties will be better off opting for “take out” which Gazebo offers and which you can enjoy by the apartment pool facing the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
Just as all the hundreds of previous reviewers have said, I would recommend this place to you, BUT with the aforementioned caveats. Aloha.More
The good points: Great staff, very friendly and accomoding. The view was excellent as well.
The bad points: Unless you're into long waits for average food, then you might be dissapointed. Of course, the portions are large, so you get lots of average food on...the plate. Even the coffee was average, and that is an accomplishment on an Island with it's own excellent home grown product.
I had a half papaya, which was excellent, and coffee. My wife had macadamia nut pancakes which I tried. Seemed to be a little undercooked. We both agreed that the papaya was much better. Won't be back.More
The line for in-house dining is insane, especially at breakfast. But I got takeout (separate line that starts at the back of the restaurant near the shore) in 15 minutes flat. The banana-Mac nut pancakes were amazing and huge portions. The coffee was also so...good. They do have a gorgeous location if you’re patient enough to wait for a table, but it’s also a 3-minute walk from beautiful Napili Beach or just eat on the rocks below the restaurant and watch sea turtles pop their heads up 😍. So you don’t miss SO much by doing takeout.More
People start lining up at 6 am, I hear. We arrived at 8:15 and was seated at 10:25. By then, the line was very manageable. You can also start calling in your orders to go at 8 am. If I had known that, I would...have done that. There are plenty of picnic tables near by. I can’t say anything we ordered wouldn’t be just as good elsewhere. We had the white chocolate Mac nut pancakes and a BLT. Hard to screw those up. They were good. The fried rice half portion was great! We ordered that to take on the plane tomorrow because we leave so early, nothing will be open. The food comes super fast!! The waitstaff is great and efficient. While you’re waiting in line, they do have umbrellas to borrow to be in the shade. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS. Do yourselves all a favor and let the kids swim at the beach nearby while the other parent waits in line. Every child was absolutely having a meltdown well before they were anywhere near eating. It’s hot and boring for them. There is beautiful scenery while you’re waiting. A large lawn the kids could run around on and a large checkerboard with coconut shells. After such a long wait, a mimosa was much needed. But too bad. They don’t sell those. So unfortunately That’s where I lost a star. Next time I’d call it in. Food was great.More
We really enjoyed our meal at the Gazebo Restaurant. Although we did have to wait nearly an hour, umbrellas are provided in order to protect yourself from the Maui sun. Even though we went for lunch, I tried the Eggs Benedict, and they were great!
