Tahiti Nui feels like old Kauai in all the best ways...love the bamboo and bar in the restaurant and the porch on the outside. The fact that the windows are all open and the casual feel of a family gathering. Don't be in a hurry if you go to Tahiti Nui, but expect some very good food, quirky but acceptable... More

I had never experienced a Luau before but I highly recommend you go to Tahiti Nui Restaurant for it. Make sure you make a reservation. It's Wednesday nights. This family owned/run restaurant is a gem of a place. The pork was absolutely amazing and I'm not a big meat lover. The entertainment plus the great food made the Luau hands... More

This is just one of those places that you have to go and experience in order to know what all the fuss is about. As seen in many movies, and an institution in Hanalei for decades. Delicious food and awesome drinks, especially their famous Mai Tai. Always busy so expect some waiting. Local music just about every night. Lots of... More

We were told by our friend who comes to Princeville 2 or 3 times a year, this was one of the best places in Hanalei to eat. We arrived right when they opened for lunch. Went with the Maitai - which was good. Then order a pizza and salad along with some beers. 45 min later the pizza finally came.... More

Stopped here for some libations during shopping trip on a rainy day..... Wasn't very busy, but the service was good, drinks excellent. Enjoyed looking at the eclectic decorations and pix on the walls.

We've been here a number of times on past visits. We have some great memories with the bands and hula dancing. It had a great vibe no matter where you sat. Our most recent trip in October 2015 was just average. It is clear they are busy these days, and things don't seem well coordinated. The server was very nice... More

One of the best mai tais I have ever tasted, great food and good service. Also, featured in the movie Descendants with Goerge Clooney. Highly recommend.

This bar was established by Louise, a woman from Tahiti, who was proud to provide entertainment and libations to the town of Hanalei. When she passed away, the tiki bar was left to her son, who took an interest in continuing his mother's tradition of hospitality. Now he's retired and things are left to his daughter who seems not to... More

We went to this place because the helicopter guide said it was a cool bar (where Clooney hanged out). The place itself is eclectic. You can sit there and contemplate how many generations saw these photos and papered these walls. The service, however, was unfriendly, with the bar girl (in her 60s) really not caring, not offering any advice on... More

This is the place for great food, and wonderful Hawaiian music and dance. Hats off to Michael Keale and his beautiful bride for the music and hula celebration -- and to their niece, Fern, for her hula. Aloha lives here!
