Stopped here on the way back from our sunrise Lava viewing tour - great hearty breakfast and nice service. Good value. Basic place but warm welcome and very friendly locals.

There was nothing remarkable about this cafe except that it was convenient. Food was good and plentiful.

Have been going to Black Rock for years. Low cost coffee shop with convenient parking. One of their greatest points is that they use locally raised grass fed beef. Very few places can claim that here. The food is reasonably good and the wait staff is friendly they also have a bar which occasionally has live entertainment.

Our first night here, we were exhausted. We stopped in at the Black Rock, and had one of the best prime rib dinners. And reasonably priced. Oh, you have to try the steak fries with something...yummmmm.

We were in town for the lava boat tour and found this great restaurant in town. Our waitress was so friendly and welcoming. This is a locals place, but we felt at home. The food was great. If we didn't have to be up at 4am, we would have gone into the bar and enjoyed the amazing band that was... More

Black Rock Cafe is a very old style folksy restaurant located in Pahoa town. The boothe are reminisent of the old days. The waitresses are friendly and the food is adaquate. If you want a local breakfast you might sholder up to the Loco Moco which is two eggs over rice and brown gravy. This will surely be your initiation... More

The Black Rock has an awesome breakfast ! We go every Sat morning. They also have a small kine local bar. Love to sit and people watch. If you have never been to Pahoa, Hawaii, come it will take you back to the 70's :)

We were amazed when we got our bill. The food was so good and for our family of 5 we paid around $60. Every other place we are at in Hawaii with comparable food set us back $110 or more. The servers are very friendly and it is in the middle of town with easy access. Recommend for families for... More

Although I think our friends liked their eggs benedict (except for the "tough" English muffin), my husband and I had the worst breakfast ever. My waffle tasted and cut like a piece of cardboard (although the bacon was good). His corned beef hash tasted of flour and little else and his eggs were runny and undone.
