Stopped here for lunch as one of my traveling friends had been here before and loved it. The town and building it's in is deep in history. History is written on their menus. Menus offer wide variety of items including local favorites. I had the...More

Charming little restaurant in a charming little village at the end of a very scenic drive. We had a very good quick lunch. My shrimps with rice were delicious. Kind quick service. Odd but pleasant decor. Happy relaxed atmosphere. Inside the restaurant there is a...More

We live on the Big Island and sadly to say we don't get down to the Kahala side of the island very often. Things have changed and with a new construction project at Kohala High School I will be spending most of the time in...More

Oh gosh, Marc! Mahalo and there is a parking lot behind the building! The alley is on the east side, between Bamboo and the trade center. Drive back, bear left, plenty of parking! I'm in Vietnam now, gathering more recipes! Mahalo so much! Aloha, joan

I had heard a lot about this place. I've also heard that this is one of the best places on the island. And then I heard their drinks are the best. Well, I can't speak to the drinks (since I had over an hour drive...More

Visited after being recommended by Flumin' Kohala. Grilled fresh ahí sandwich was incredible and the perfect portion for lunch. Finished off with the phenomenal mocha cappuccino cheesecake.

They claim to be (on of) the best restaurants on the big island. That is quite bold, as another restaurant a few doors over is far better! Burger was so so, meatloaf was ok. Service was slow, ambiance must be an acquired taste. We were...More

We hadn't been to Bamboo in years but looked forward to going again after finally getting back to the Big Island. Unfortunately, the food was very bland and a big disappointment. I had chicken teriyaki, which consisted of flattened, dry medallions of chicken, a lump...More

Gosh, I'm so sorry that KP didn't talk to us and let us make it right for them. It is entirely possible the kitchen overcooked the chicken. We make mistakes and hope people let us get it right before they make a public pronouncement. They...More

This has been a lunch favorite for many years. Love the food, atmosphere, and service. Go upstairs and take in the art and collectables.

Returned to the island and didn't want to miss our chance to eat at Bamboo. The food is always fresh, healthy and delicious. The Bamboozler plate is a great choice and can be an appetizer or an entree. The fresh catch was excellent. We also...More
