Its has a cafeteria style seating area. Reasonable portions in a historic building. Its one of those that everyone on the island should do once. When friends or relatives come, we take them so they can experience it. Overall rating of very good is because...More

A must stop eatery each trip to Kona. Can't miss them on Mamalahoa Highway in Kealakehe. Home style pork chops with gravy and fresh fried opelu & akule.

Simplicity, atmosphere and delicious food. From outside the Manago hotel looks like it may have only a few days left before it's gone. However, you enter the dining room and everything changes to Hawaii as it was 30-40-50 years ago. The local food served with...More

I love the Manago restaurant for its friendly and home like atmosphere. It is one of the islands oldest establishments. Here you will find deliciously fresh fish and of course their famous pork chops. You will be served big bowls of rice along with other...More

The atmosphere is old-time, the fare is limited, and the service is indifferent. Drinks are cheap. If you want onions and gravy with your pork chop, you'll have to request that; it's not offered automatically, although it improves the dish quite a bit. Cash only.

Been going here for fifteen years. Simple food but don't let that fool you. Best Ono, mac/potato salad. If you like liver and onions, this will be the best you've ever had. Pork chop is what they are known for and it's amazing. Assorted appetizers...More

This is a must go place if you seek local experiences. White cloth napkin lovers might be disappointed. The menu is written on a board, great selection of local fish, good steaks, they also serve beef liver. The sides are variable, but it is always...More

Great value. Decent Food. We arrived at 5:30 and there was plenty of tables, but within 45 minutes it was mostly full. Many were reserved. The dinner menu included five different kinds of fish, chicken, liver and if course pork chops. The fish sautéed in...More

I agree with the previous writer. Food and drinks are a bargain. The wine selection is very limited. Their menu is actually written on a blackboard, not printed. Two of us had lunch and drinks for $20.
