Love the old hotel and all of it's history. The restaurant staff were friendly and quick to serve us. The pork chops were mouthwatering and very filling. Established in 1913 and still serving locals and tourist alike.

What a fabulous find! We ate here last night and it was so deliciousl. It is kind of a blast from the past. They have been a hotel for 99 years (100 as of 2017).The restaurant has little ambiance in the modern sense (I think the chairs are from the 50's). Long diner type tables.. The Menu is posted on... We visited the restaurant here for supper. The place is open Tues to Sat from 5.00 to 7.30, and is used by many locals. Local meat and fish, with rice and vegetables, GREAT VALUE Wonderful service by friendly local staff Third generation from original owners, 1913 The oldest restaurant on Hawai'i

It's a local restaurant. They have their menu on the wall. Lots of local eating. And I love it... I'm not a pork chop eater but I am so going back again. It's a do over. When hubby and I ate there, it made me feel like my mom's home cooking. I know it's a cliche but it was. The... More

We spent a night at the Manago Hotel and ate dinner and breakfast while we were there. We made reservations for dinner based on something we read. They even had a "reserved" sign with our names on it on the table, which was cute. Eating here is like stepping back to a simpler time. The menu is posted on the... More

This place has been recommended by a number of people. The common description is "No frills". That is very accurate. We had dinner here (considered staying here but ultimately went a different way) on a Friday night. It was full of local families. Even though it is also a hotel, it doesn't feel "touristy". The food falls into the "No... More

This is my favorite eatery on the Big Island. Wonderfully fresh fish, friendly service, each dinner comes with rice and three sides in a casual setting. Family owned and operated for three generations and entering the fourth. I really cannot say enough good things about the fine hospitality of the Manago family. The prices are so reasonable that you wonder how... More

For $25, my husband and I had a pork chop meal and a teriyaki chicken meal. The pork chops were salty and delicious. The teriyaki chicken was very plain and had almost no flavor. Sides came for sharing: rice, seaweed salad, macaroni-potato salad (very good), and squash. Cans of soda are available. Food was ready fast and server was very... More

My wife and I last visited this family restaurant 12 years ago so we were so amazed to find the delicious dishes are better than ever! My wife and I had to stop there twice and both times my wife ordered the popular pork chops. I had opakapaka our first recent visit and miso butterfish today. Both were slamming. This... More
