If you're staying around the mountain, and not in town (1/2 an hour away), restaurant choices are limited. One would be likely to choose the Alpenhof. The ambiance, food, server, were all OK. But there were a few seriously annoying things. We were a group of 7 people, 3 couples and a single person. We told the server that we'd... More

Base of slope restaurant with an interesting menu. Food is Swiss/German for the most part, but other items are also available. Pricing is in line with what you would expect at a ski resort and offers a good value. Nice option to the standard food offered at other base restaurants. Worth a try!

We had never been to the Alpenrose before in five trips to Jackson, so on a quiet Wednesday night, we decided to give it a try. For the first 15 to 20 minutes we had the restaurant to ourselves - which is really a shame because the food was wonderful. We had the cheese fondue with the bratwurst and it... More

We dined here on 1/21 in the Bistro, our first night in town and I think we were really looking for their main restaurant, but ended up in the Bistro and the place was rather empty on the quiet Tuesday night. I loved the mushroom lasagna and took half of it home for lunch the next day since the portion... More

We have dined here for years, and as other Restaurants come and go, this convenient quiet lovely place has us coming back. You don't have to worry whether you can talk or other people at your table can hear you, it is civilized and pleasant. (Most other dining places are very loud in Jackson). We always enjoy what we order... More

We stayed at the Alpenhof during New Years week so this place was very convenient for us. We had a disappointing experience at the Bistro restaurant located upstairs in the same hotel, but had a better experience here. The servers wear the Swiss themed costumes like the ride operators at the Matterhorn in Disneyland. Unlike our experience at the Bistro,... More

We were looking forward to this restaurant but wow the experience was bad. The decor and staff are Swiss themed which was cute but everything just kept the feeling of a Disney themed restaurant except the service that was worse. After sitting at our table with no one approaching is for about 15 minutes we finally had a server appear... More

Had lunch at the Bistro (Perhaps not the same as Alpenrose?) and was very disappointed. Average food at an expensive price. Watery hot cocoa. Brats weren't that tasty. LUnch for a family of 4 was expensive for very ho-hum food.

This restaurant bring back memories of driving through the Schwarzwald in Germany during a 1985 road trip. The schnitzel was tender and tasty, the rot kraut delicately seasoned with the right amount of sweet and tang and the spatzle was good. It is somewhat expensive but a fun treat!

Nothing to impress, not even the food or the prices. Got what we paid for, nothing more, nothing less. I feel this place could use a refurbishment.
