El Tap's food is consistently good - love the carne asada with a side cheese enchilada, or the Tampiquena. Shrimp is always good, great guacamole, and my husband loves the smothered burrito, fixed "special" with lots of sauce inside and out. We love and support this family owned business! Its a great place to see friends enjoying lunch or dinner.... More

We stopped here after a volleyball game and were very disappointed. The salsa was so bland it didn't even reach "mild" status. The food was ok, but it was very bland. The enchilada sauce tasted like the main ingredient was tomato sauce. My biggest complaint was the staff. We had to ask for refills, we waited twenty minutes for our... More

Passing thru or live in the area avoid this place. Staff and owners unfriendly! Basic attitude: "What are you doin in my restaurant." Food so, so and you have another good choice 3 blocks away.

Wow! This place was fantastic. It's freshly prepared and served promptly. We'd definitely go back. Good atmosphere too. The personnel were very friendly.

Being from south Texas near the Mexican border, & being raised by Mexican parents, this is not authentic at all. It started with the salsa they give you, chips were ok, but that salsa tasted like marinara sauce. Thought I'd give the food a try, ordered (combo plate) 1 beef enchilada, 1 beef taco, 1 bean burrito. All 4 of... More

Obviously I know what Mexican food is I'm from south Texas 15 miles from Progreso Tamaulipas Mexico. They don't serve soft corn tortillas they use store bought. The meet for tacos is disgusting it's processed or something. Not real. The salsa LOL tasted like marinara sauce. Don't pay to get sick. We left and came to subway. To get that... More

The food is excellent not too spicy but they will spice it up if you wish and the family that owns the business go the extra mile to make sure that what ever you orde ris presented in a quick and well done manner.

We live neat Powell and often drive over just for dinner at El Tap! We have been loyal customers for years and have never had a bad meal, and we eat here at least once a month. The food is authentic and delicious. The owners are good people and their pride in the business is apparent.

They didn't have a salad option on the menu for lunch, but when I asked about a salad they worked hard to accommodate to my request. The salad they made was very good even with some avocado on it! The food is pretty authentic here as well which is an expectation for me with Mexican food. I also LOVE the... More
