The food was good and our staff was nice, however my husband didn't get exactly what he ordered. Wasn't really kid friendly. Expected more atmosphere.

Steaks were good but chicken was dry. Yes, I know, you don't order chicken in a steak house. Elk medallions were excellent. $$$$ $700 later for 6 adults and one child of 13. Everything was plus plus. We had a good meal, enjoyable evening, but...More
Thank you for dining with us. We are glad you enjoyed the steaks. I apologize for the chicken being dry. No one in your party menitioned anything about the chicken so we could not fix the problem since no one said anything about it. We...More
First time I've been disappointed with Trip Advisor recommendation. No way this is #2. Service was very friendly, informative, and attentive. Food was way over priced for quality provided. They are living off reputation of great bar upstairs. Other nearby places had waiting lists and...More

Growing up around Jackson, I could not wait to be old enough to go in and have a beer. This place holds so much of what Jackson is to us "old timers". It's still a favorite.
Do tourists go there? Yes. However, as a guide who has worked in the area over rhe years, I can tell you that its not the typical "tourist trap" youd likely see elsewhere. The Cowboy is an institution and it retains much of the same...More
Family of 5 ate here in July. The food is average and the prices are what you would expect from a high-tourist area. Steaks run north of $35 dollars and not any better than the chain steakhouses that are in the area.
Yes, you need to go in at least once and then move on. Drinks are way overpriced. Day and night you obviously get a completely different atmosphere and I prefer the day over the night. When we tried to go in a night, the guy...More
