It doesn't get any better than this. We arrived in Hulett after 1 week in the south of New Mexico - and finally had great food again. The chef & owner Dean has moved here from New Jersey and opened a restaurant and Deli (right next door) in celebration of Eastcoast-style-food. He believes in quality and uses only the best... More

Best place to stop for wonderful hospitality, excellent food, quick service..with food to please every pallet! The setting and atmosphere is definitely an eye pleaser set back in the old West and old West is true to the word...small town tucked away in the mountains set around an original saw mill with tons of history just by sight and smell... Our hunting party had the pleasure of enjoying Dean's cooking and friendly wait staff. It had been a couple years since we last were out here and the meals are still A++. This veteran owned business is a must if you are passing thru. If you slide back to the bar be sure to have a few laughs with Brandi,... More

The food is wonderful and is an awesome place to visit. I've been going there for years for our yearly vacation and have never been disappointed. A must place to visit.

Tasted exactly like the sirloin I grind at home. I've eaten buffalo many times but this didn't come anywhere near, not to mention the inflated prices. Not to mention the extremely LOUD conversation that occurred between the cook? owner? and some folks was very disruptive. It was so loud it was useless to have a conversation at our own table.... I try to shape our bison Pattie oval so we can tell the difference when the grill has both beef and bison burgers cooking at the same time sounds like you were served one of our burgers (we use 97/3 ground sirloin)..for that I do apologize. We feature fresh ground South Dakota bison and serve a 10 oz burger fresh never... It is what it is. A nice little hometown cafe' in Hulett. The portions are huge, the service was great, and the food was wonderful. I can't say anything more. If you're in Hulett or visiting the Devils Tower, stop in and eat with the locals. All friendly, great people.

This was my second trip to the Ponderosa. I live in Western Wisconsin & made this place a priority for my trip. Dean and his staff went above and beyond once again with the atmosphere and the food. I ordered off menue where Dean made me some sort of Chicken Adobe dish. I had never had anything like it before.... More

Attentive service, large portions, and good food. We were staying at the Best Western just down the road from the Ponderosa. It was recommended to us by the front desk staff. It has a rustic feel with lots of old and some new knick knack decorations which were interesting to check out. The food hit the spot after a day... More

I ordered the shrimp platter. Biggest shrimp I've seen in years. The food was hot and fresh. Wait staff very friendly. Loved the atmosphere.

On our multi state Road trip we wanted to see Devils Tower, so we opted to stay the night in Hulett. We found this place online and all the pictures looked good. We found a table near the bar and our waitress promptly greeted us. She went over the daily specials and got our drink order. After a long day... More
