This was my first meal at the Down Home Diner. I had questions about the menu and my server was very helpful and willing to answer my questions. I ordered the meatloaf with a baked potato on the side. I requested that my meatloaf be topped with sauted mushrooms and onions and gravy. It was prepared to order and quite... More

Indifferent wait staff, plain tasting food, no pride in preparation. Breakfast a maybe; but forget dinner.

I had to drop off my car for service SO I walked a block or two to have breakfast here. I haven't been back in awhile BUT it's STILL the same. The food comes out quickly and it's comfort food done right at breakfast. The service is very attentive. The Farmer's Omelet with onions, sausage, peppers, bacon, tomatoes ham, mushrooms... More

Food cooked the way you like it. Ample serving at reasonable price. Nothing fancy. Manager/server was friendly and professional.

We stopped in here for an early evening dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The server was friendly and accommodating, while very attentive as well. My wife ordered a sirloin that was cooked to perfection. I ordered the hot open face sandwich, which was delicious. I would stop in here again for sure.

Wanted to love this place based on the line and locale. We were a party of six. The wait to get a table wasn't so bad but we waited a good 30-35 minutes for the food and watched people get theirs who arrived after us. I would have let it slide if the food was good but it was super... More

OK, I had dinner at Down Home Diner based on the reviews here. Unfortunately, the real thing didn't live up to the reviews for me. If you expect any ambiance, this is not your choice. I realize it is a glorified truck-stop cafe, but the place is so run down, it is borderline depressing. If you don't want breakfast food... More
