We had eaten at Al Johnson's several years ago and remembered it fondly. Still delicious meatballs and pancakes; good fast service; friendly wait staff. And the Butik has such interesting items. Missed the goats this time but will catch them next time.

This place is not only iconic, but delicious! The food is awesome, service attentive and a great view of the harbor! And who doesn't love goats on the roof?

I was disappointed that it was already closed at 3pm on a beautiful spring day. I'm born in Finland and raised in Sweden so I was looking forward to visiting after a long drive and first time visit to Door county only to find it closed. Huge bummer for me.

Fantastic breakfast had the standard pancake special. The fruit sauce for the pancakes was awesome. Unusual to have meatballs for breakfast but they were the best. Will always come back

Curious about this landmark restaurant with the grass roof and a "goat cam" - yes, it's a real webcam featuring the goats on the restaurant's roof - my wife and I decided to make it one our stops on an extended weekend. The decor is much like what I expected in a Swedish restaurant. Light wood everywhere accented by Dalamalning,... More

In our 25 years of coming to Door County, we've learned that the one sure place to get great food, service, and unique decor is Al Johnson's. It is just consistently good...every time!

We stopped for breakfast with a large group and we were seated right away, which was nice. We all got the Swedish Pancakes with lingonberries, Swedish meatballs, and Lingonberry Ice Tea. Everything was delicious! We will definitely be back when it is warmer and the goats are out. 😊

My wife and I have been traveling to Door County at least twice a year for the last 5 years. We always try new places, but one constant has been getting breakfast at Al Johnson's! Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait, but that is consistent with anywhere in Door County. Get the Swedish Pancake and meatball breakfast.... More
