As a local, I'm in here all the time. Consistently great beer (all made in house), really tasty pub grub. I always run into some locals and I always meet some folks just passing through. Always a great time!

Grumpy Troll has amazing food and delicious beer that is brewed on site. Upstairs is the Pizzeria which is second to none!

My cousins live all over the State and we always choose The Grumpy Troll as our central meeting place for our lunch gatherings. Always delicious food. Their beer flights are fun and taste great. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. Staff was average in my opinion. They're usually busy every time we go so I guess I give them a break... More

Enjoyed the Friday fish fry which I chose to enjoy with garlic mashed potatotes, slaw and a pretzel roll...topped it off with a pint of Maibock! Another local brew consumed!!! Very enjoyable enviroment and food...service was super-friendly...made for a fun dinner.

Came here with family and grandparents for a few drinks and appetizers while on our way to Madison from House on the Rock. It was 230 pm on a Friday so didn't think would be busy, but there was a 15 minute wait even though a few tables were open. When we asked for a table for 6, the young... More

I do not drink alcohol so I cannot comment on the beer but the root beer is delicious. Only order the pretzel appetizer if you have more than 2 people or 3 or even 4. It is really good. Highly recommend the grump chips with the Gorgonzola cheese, too. I have eaten here many times, burgers, soups, specials, wraps and... More

We were there Friday for lunch. Our drinks came quickly, but we had to ask for water. My "Three Little Pigs" (bbq pulled pork with a slice of ham and bacon) was very good! My mom ordered her burger medium, but I could see that there wasn't any pink inside when she cut it in half. Our sandwiches were large,... More

Our favorite food item was the pretzel appetizer. Everything else was fine but that was the tastiest and most different option to order. One thing I didn't care for was that if you want pizza you have to eat upstairs. Someone in our party wanted the pizza and simply couldn't order it because the majority of the group wanted to... We stopped in for a quick bite on a nice spring Sunday afternoon. My wife had the BLT. I had the 3 little pigs (BBQ Pork, Bacon and Ham) Both were very good. I would stop in again.
