Have you seen an Italian restaurant on TV? White linens (Oh, I suppose you could be critical and want red and white), brass bar rail, chalk board, you get the idea.
Huge portions of wonderful fresh pasta. great wine and beer selections, arrancini (and other antipasti), freshly grated parmesan, soup and salad.
Add in great service, good prices and outdoor seating and there is nothing more to ask for.

With just one visit a year ago, Tenuta's in Bay View jumped to the top of our favorite restaurant list. Our numerous subsequent visits solidified our decision. We have never been disappointed in any appetizer, entree or dessert we've had. My hands-down favorite is Zucca, butternut squash ravioli with crunchy kale on top, which is (sadly) available only on the fall menu. My off-season choices are Pesto with pappardelle pasta or Calbrese, a wonderful spicy sausage dish, also with pappardelle. Bruschetta or Burrata as appetizers are equally delicious, but the burrata is far more filling. My husband loves the meatballs as an appetizer and Bolognese with pappardelle pasta as an entree. We like trading out for pappardelle whenever possible. It's a wonderful thick, homemade pasta that goes well with any sauce. Desserts are plentiful and amazing. Two chocolate chip cannoli could easily feed four (especially after a Tenuta's meal) as can the tiramisu. Both are to die for. Make reservations to make sure you get a table and try the Italian beer for a change from wine.

Friendly staff, great drinks, reasonable prices, neighborly patrons, relaxing atmosphere, delicious food. Don’t be shy about asking questions such as substituting the type of pasta listed for your dish on the menu. We’ll be back.

We started off with the beef carpaccio which was fabulous. You must try! Then I chose the Special which was spaghetti pasta, asparagus & pancetta. The Specials are absolutely tasty on any day. And a spaghetti and meatballs. These are some big filling meatballs you get with a tantalizing sauce over spaghetti. Just amazing & we get to have another taste tomorrow with what we came home with. Thank you Chef for a nice evening & that you staff for being Lon top of things. Generally we have Shay or Ty as our bartenders & they rock with the rest of the staff. Thanks again

Friends gathered over the holidays for a cosy dinner. The ambiance here was fun, quite dark, but not oppressive, chatty but still easy to hear our conversation. Everyone was pleased with their entrees and shared appetizers. The soup was excellent. Later I had wished I had had a little salad too and taken more of my pasta home for nibbling over the weekend. I am vegetarian, so I am always of the hunt for interesting veggie choices. The parmigiana was expected but quite nice. A touch greasy, i thought. But our wines were dry and delicious. Good strong South Milwaukee cocktails, lavish appetizers, and huge portions of tiramisu. A delicious comfy, pleasant evening.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Stopped in on a recent business trip for a Tuesday night dinner. It was really full inside so I decided to eat outside. Beautiful evening, 65 degrees and a full moon as well as a view of the planes coming in to MKE. Ordered the Bolognese with homemade papardelle. Included a wonderful salad and a basket of fresh bread. The BEST bolognese I have EVER eaten. Amazing. Excellent service and probably one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to and I travel the US for business every week and eat in tons of disappointing restaurants. This place is outstanding!

Dinner on a weeknight.
What we liked:
1. Plenty of street parking
2. White tablecloths
3. Best Riesling I've had in a while
4. Kassy, our waitress, is sweet and attentive. A real gem. Hope I spelled her name right.
5. Delicious bread
6. Clean restroom
7. Reasonable prices
8. Expansive wine and beer list
9. Oh the bolognese! So delicious. I ate too much.
What we didn't like:
Nothing.
Would we return?

Took my parents for dinner at 4:30 pm on Saturday evening. There were multiple empty tables inside and they didn't have any signs on them. We were told all of the tables inside were reserved and we would have to sit outside in the sun. Very disappointing. Unlikely to return.

We had a beautiful dinner at Tenuta's Italian - Bay View last night. Got there early at 5, and it was hopping!
We had:
-carpaccio (best I’ve ever had…meat was so tender and beautifully balanced with capers, cheese, and arugula)
-Agnello pasta: Lamb meatballs, Calabrian chilies, tomato cream sauce, penne, goat cheese
-Pan seared salmon, snap pea risotto, melted leeks, cherry tomatoes, brown butter, thyme
-tiramisu….OMG.
We started off dinner with garlic bread, and kids had an amazing thin crust pizza, but didn’t manage to grab pics.
First time here, and won’t be my last. Intimate space with outstanding service and food was 10/10! Highly recommend. A++++++ —

Delightful food in a very pleasant atmosphere. Residential neighborhood, very good wait staff, generous portions, good salad, too full for dessert. Good place to take guests or enjoy an Italian evening before the Bocelli concert as we did.

A group of us ate here recently and everyone’s food was very good. The bruschetta appetizer and breaded fresh mozzarella were excellent ! I wanted a modification on my gnocchi to a vodka sauce - no problem - which was appreciated. I don’t understand why there was an up charge, but okay. The gnocchis were outstanding. The service was great - no pressure to finish quickly or move along. I also tried the chicken parmigiana and it was good. I hope to return soon- glad to have discovered this gem.

This was my first time eating at Tenuta's and I will definitely be back! The food and service was excellent! They have a nice wine selection to choose from as well.

Great p[;lace in an old bar/restaurant in an equally old neighbor in Milwaukee. The cold november sunday evening we went there had a small crowd no big wait service was very good food just what we needed. Would recommend.
