Had a great meal at Mangia's on a Sunday night. They accommodated our special requests and all the food was outstanding as was the service. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere of this classic Italian establishment is absolutely lovely. The staff is attentive and accommodating, and food was simply delicious. There's got to be a "but" coming, right? Right. I sincerely did enjoy my brunch at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon (along with a really "effective" Bloody Mary) - I went with the Steak & Eggs Benedict after looking... More

We have eaten here two years ago and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food served. However, this time the food was very disappointing. The lamb shanks were served au jus and made the polenta into a greasy soup. The starters were very expensive and not large portions so could not share. Service was slow and the food was mediocre. Dropped... More

The food was good but not great. I know they have changed chefs a number of times recently, and they are basically cooks who follow the menu created by Tony Montuano, who also owns Spiaggia in Chicago. They try to play off of that a lot, but fall quite short. They also try to come off as a Wine Bar.... More

Mangia remains a great place for a dinner, to be sure. The ambiance, the lighting and the service remain great. During a recent visit, my companion and I shared the calamari appetizer, a Salsiccia pizza and a bottle of wine. I would call the dinner...a bit inconsistent. The calamari appetizer was served in a red sauce that included "fried lentils"... More

James Shields, chef de cuisine at Mangia Wine Bar since late June, deserves notice. Though the Mantuano family's Italian trattoria is no stranger to elevated fare, James' food is the most pleasant I've enjoyed there in the last three years. Hailing from Kentucky, James hesitates to hide his southern influence. A fact that I applaud. What diners are left with... More

Went with a group of 10 on a Saturday night. Happy hour until 7:00 (at bar only) made for very reasonable beer and drink prices. Limited menu. 2 of us ordered the nights seafood special, waitress came back after a while to tell us there was only one special left. Dinners came out in stages the last was served at... More

The dishes are all so flavorful. We asked what dishes to consider and the waitress explained them in detail. Their wait staff is very attentive.

We were looking for a place to meet family between Chicago and Milwaukee and decided to try Mangia in Kenosha. It had been about 20 years since we had last visited and assumed with the longevity of the restaurant that it must still be good. I would describe it as fine but not outstanding. The service was a little slow... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the restaurant. We apologize the service seemed a little slow, that is definitely something we will take a closer look at. Thank you for your suggestion regarding the menu. We currently have about 15 dishes on our menu that do not contain pork. Other dishes may contain pork, but we would be... More

We booked Mangia for New Year's Eve, and we were not disappointed! The lobster bisque was amazing, the hummus a nice touch for an appetizer, and our main dishes were great. The shrimp and scallop portion was a bit small, but the NY strip was huge! It was also very well-seasoned and tender. The ambient music is a bit too... More

Description
What started in 1988 with only nine tables and Kenosha's only authentic wood-burning oven has grown to the area's premiere rustic Italian restaurant with a touch of modern. Mangia offers exceptional seasonal menus, fine wine lists and quality service that customers have come to expect and enjoy. Originally opened by brothers Gino and Tony along with their father Gene 'Gig' Mantuano, Mangia expanded in 1990, combining three small buildings with an outdoor dining garden patio. In 1992, Susan Mantuano-Tishuk joined as part owner and manager. Fast forward to 2014 as a third generation, Tre Mantuano takes the lead as Restaurant Manager at the newly remodeled Mangia Wine Bar. We are thankful for our past and look forward to the future.
