Service was great.

Service was great. Some of our friends food was served almost warm (not hot) but able to eat. Others thought theirs was great. Mine was as expected. Skip the French onion soup. Not good. Environment nice, outdoor dining. Looks like a fun place..outdoor stage for music, several volleyball courts, picnic tables and firepits. Will give it another try.

Hit or miss, and I mean strike out

For the most part, the food is pretty good. The same can not be said for the service, which is friendly but very slow because of under staffing. Long waits for beverages and meals. The last time here we took some out of town friends, had to go to the bar to get our own drinks a couple of times and then after an hour and some minute wait, three of the four meals we ordered arrived. We never received the fouth dinner (mine) and in the time the others had completed their's, not once did we have a server ask us if everything was ok. When the server finally brought the bill I told her about the missing meal and she graciously said she would take it off the bill. Haven't been back since......

A very good experience

Our 3rd visit here and equally as wonderful. Our group had wraps and burgers, including the buffalo chicken and the lobster wrap. Each person enjoyed their meal and had leftovers to take home. And the German potato salad was fabulous as a side. Diet coke was served in a mini pitcher which is handy as I was thirsty. Meals and beverages (both alcoholic and non) are reasonably priced. The restaurant was very busy but service was still great. We will come back again.

Wait staff without COVID-19 vaccinations or even masks!

Food and service were good, though next time I would request less sauce in the mahi fish tacos. But the experience was unfortunately spoiled by the restaurant’s utter disregard for the public’s safety. When I arrived, I asked a server (who turned out to be our waitress) and another woman (likely the hostess) about vaccination status (COVID-19). Neither was wearing a mask, and the waitress (if not both) had not been vaccinated. The hostess said that state law does not require it (!?). Despite my concerns, our waitress did not put on a mask, or even provide a substitute server—maybe NONE of them had been vaccinated. I did not see any staff at all with masks, though obviously I did not go in the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen—considering what’s going on in the dining room, I have to seriously question the hygiene in the kitchen. I would have walked out, but I was with a group of nine other family members who were meeting at a location between our respective homes. I will not be returning.

A+ will definitely return for the Reuben

Reuben was delicious! After trying theirs, it was tasty, yet for the price, we still prefer Portillo’s or Vickie’s Place (McHenry) for our Italian Beef Atmosphere was clean, however, crowded and quite loud (hard to carry conversation with person sitting across the table. Weather permitting we would select outside if possible.

What happened?

This used to be my favorite place but now i feel the pandamic ruined another once spectacular place. Pulled pork chips used to rock, tonight cold cheese sauce on top of salty chips with some pork. Wedge salad was awesome but tonight they even forgot the bacon and i thought onion and basalmic glaze. Lobster sandwich my food loving teen couldnt finish. Poor service, but we expect that every where. Prices seem alot higher too. Oh well, i guess i will be cooking more at home.

Relatively good food if you're willing to wait for it. Service was horrible, not because they were really busy, but because the wait staff wasn't managing their time well. We watched the person who waited on us stand at a table for 20 minutes while we were waiting. They need training

Just off the road, worth the trip

Elevated bar food done very well. This place rocks on the weekends with music and outdoor games. We just missed the meat raffle one night! Lots of fun with great food and service. Reuben is to die for, burgers are right there too.

Very fun spot!

Our first time last night and we had a great meal outside, drinks and live music. Our waitress Willis (I hope that's her name) was busy as could be helping several tables outside. She was always there for us when needed. We will return.

Find this Hideaway

What a find just over the border towards lake Geneva. Great menu. Lovely outdoor area with activities and if you're lucky, live music! Right off of Rt 12 no matter your destination, you have to stop for a bit.

Excellent food, great beverages and outstanding service. Very consistently great experience with a fun bar vibe. Always some fun activity going on - bingo, meat raffles, music bingo. Staff is terrific.

Must stop in, and then go back again and again!

How have I not been here yet???!!! My son found it to meet up for lunch as it's a halfway between him and myself. Food was great and when I found out they serve HADDOCK for their fish fry I had to go back. Did NOT disappoint!!! Food was soo good and had a really good time with trivia and music tonight. Will DEFINITELY be back and can't wait for the summertime to see what all is going on! Kyle was our server and he was AWESOME!!! Thank you!!!

Fun busy place

We were here on a Saturday afternoon in the Fall with a group of 7. They were quite busy but they fit us in. Their blue tomato appetizer was quite good. So was the chili and French onion soup. Nice fall decorations.

Great food, fast and friendly service

Our visit to Herner’s was great! Food was great( try the Reuben if you like them.... it is amazing) and came out hot and fast! Really nice server and prices are average.

Owner and Bartender accuse people of not paying

The Owner sat in her office watching on camera as Bartender/Server try to intimidate teens telling them they are not paying tabs. Then has Staff tell parents they had an open tab for a $2.00 pop and we should teach them about tipping. We had proof that not only did they Pay and Tip over 20% each (table of 6) but then said they did not bring enough revenue to the business because they were not drinking alcohol. They said they had to turn people away because our teens who ordered and paid for full meal, did not drink alcohol they were losing revenue due to the teens. Owner & Bartender straight up LIED and have continued to LIE. BE SMART....DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME...WE ARE NOT THE FIRST FAMILY TO HAVE TROUBLES HERE!!!!! READ REVIEWS FROM OTHERS!!!!
