The hidden gem of T town dining. Deanna,owner/chef, has an outstanding little dining venue. Eclectic, gourmet, intimate and always a great dining experience.

Mean staff that tell you how inconvenient your presence is. I walked out. I will never go to this café again and I never eat here. The parking in the area is very limited and angled. Don't bother going here unless you have excellent breaks and are willing to be treated like dirt. My recommendations if you find your self... More
This place is on the "best Places to Kiss" list and is often a special occasion/anniversary dinner kind of place. Food is consistently good and fairly priced. It's a family place so it's a bit quirky but you want that more than corporate uniformity! Recommended!
Everything was GREAT! Food, service drinks were all wonderful! We were particularly impressed with the flexibility of our server to allow some adjustments to our orders and allowing us to split some entrees. We were also happy that they were will to accommodate us for an early seating (4:30 pm) so we'd be done in time for the Tacoma Jazz... More
Comfy home-like small welcoming atmosphere . Staff was friendly, attentive, and pleasant! We had a wonderful meal for six of us. Enjoyed the food, wine, staff, and atmosphere. Tucked away on small alley downtown. We were there to celebrate but will be back for another visit. Pricing reasonable.
Seven years ago we found this place by accident and have been making reservations there, far in advance of our annual Tacoma visits, ever since. The ambience and the staff are warm, welcoming, charming; the service and the meals are excellent. It all starts with the home made, fresh, warm bread and just gets better and better. Every thing we... More
Revisited Over the Moon Cafe for our anniversary and it confirmed our earlier opinion that this is probably the best intimate restaurant in Tacoma. It's small (get reservations), and the menu is somewhat limited but excellent variety. The quality, flavor and service is outstanding. Recommend trying a few different items like beet salad or crab bisque. Thanks to a recommendation... More
Over the Moon Cafe is a hidden gem tucked away on Opera Alley in Downtown Tacoma. The food and wine is very good and priced appropriately. The service is always perfect. Reservations a must - the restaurant is small.
Took my wife there for our anniversary, and was a little unsure of what to expect as we had never been there. But with the reviews we read and the fact we wanted to try something "a little different" we made reservations for dinner (highly recommended). Atmosphere was just what I was looking for...quaint, romantic and unusual. We were shown... More
I tried this place based on other reviews, and a recommendation from a friend. I found it to be somewhat cramped and not very appealing for a date. The food was OK. I might try a second visit to see if I have a better experience.
