Oh my heavens. I wish this place was in Oregon...it would actually fit right in down in Eugene. The potatoes at this place are absolutely amazing. My husband is a pancake lover. He ordered ONE pancake, it was bigger than his face and DEEEEELICIOUS! We all had to help him finish it off. I had the "Magic Potatoes" and after... More

its almost like having breakfast at the 5 and dime. one large room with tables everywhere. if your lucky you'll get a window seat and be able to watch the foot traffic. the menu is American and good. the coffee tastes great. the wait staff is professional and friendly. the price won't break you.

The Shakabrah offers a wonderful breakfast menu with many options to chose from. I like their breakfast scramble and pancakes. Reasonably priced food. Downside- could use a good cleaning, it has become very worn over the years and lacks cleanliness.

I didn't know what to expect here, but the ratings were good. We stopped by on a whim. I'm not sure I fully understand the seating / ordering process, but the food was phenomenal. Everything we ordered for breakfast was great, including the coffee. There was a reason we had to stand in a line for a table, and I... More

When you enter Shakbrah you have two choices, self-serve or wait to be seated. Weekends are packed so you could wait a long time either way. Menus are at the counter for self serve. Find a table , choose your food (pancakes are bigger than a standard sized dinner plate), order at the register, wait to be served. Remember to... More

In town for a graduation of student of UPS, and she brought us here. You can sit down and be waited on, or as student suggested, place your order for faster service, which we did. Food is good, competent and was up fast. Coffee self serve and good. I have no complaints. Reasonably priced, hippie chic ambience was pleasant and... More

We had driven past Shakabrah several times but today was our first visit. (Sunday afternoon.) We didn't know what to expect at all and were really surprised. To start with, this no-frills cafe on Tacoma's trendy 6th Ave was filled with lively conversation. A good sign. Happy people talk loudly! Next, we saw plates filled with great looking food. Another... More

This little caffee in 6th street is where the locals gather all day breakfast. The coffee is pretty good when you are not in a rush. My daughter and I ordered avocado toast and it was OK, not the best we ever had. I think Shakabrah could really improve if they made fresh pastries. Bread wrapped in plastic is not... More

After all the reviews, I was expecting something equal or better to Kelly's Breakfast joint in Gig Harbor and decided to take my Uncle from Australia for a treat. It was noisy, crowded, and they don't allow parties to sit at a table unless they're all together. That's ok but when the only reason the party isn't together is because... More

It was hard to decide what to order, as everything sounded delicious. I saw some of the pancakes that were ready to be served, and they looked amazing! Instead I chose eggs with a biscuit. The biscuit left a bit to be desired. It did not taste like a southern buttery biscuit. It was heavy and a bit dry. But... More
