Don't let the looks of the place or the clientele fool you. What looks like a hangout for local retirees is instead a very good place for breakfast and lunch/dinner. The Windmill Bistro occupies a portion of the Windmill Nursery property in the outskirts of this small former farming town. The food ranging from crust-less quiche to outstanding Angus beef... More

Had lunch with my wife and it was great. She had been the week before with a big group of friends and they were very accommodating.

Have eaten here 5 or 6 times before, usually good. This visit on January 30th was a little disappointing. I had the Crab Mac and Cheese with a very thick layer of loose dry crumbs of some sort..Panko maybe? It may have had a bit of Parmesan in it, but it was not melted together or browned at all. Dry..... More

We went there with another couple. The wife suggested it. My husband and I didn't even know about the place. The other gal and I had the Chicken Sesame salad, one of the guys had a BLT and one had a Blue cheeseburger. Wow! Everything wa as wonderful. It was a little high but I expected that because it's not... More

Nice little restaurant hidden in Sumner. Food is delicious- great variety and all is good. Brunch on the weekend is amazing - but HAVE RESERVATIONS! In the sunny months (few and far between in Washington) you can sit outdoors and enjoy the gardens while you eat. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. A great place to enjoy friends and good... Had friends move to Idaho and this was one of their favorite places to eat. They came back for a visit and the four of use went to lunch for my wife's birthday. The ladies had the open face crab melt sand which, my friend had the fish and chips and I had the Cheddar Angus Burger. Service was good,... More

Had a Groupon coupon and decided to have lunch with a friend as it was close to the nursery. Came right after the Saturday breakfast crowd and was able to get tight in. Good attention from the wait staff, and great crab sandwich with sweet potato fries. My friend had a chicken sandwich and she loved that as well. Nice... More

I've been a frequent visitor to the nursery next door but had not eaten in the Bistro before yesterday. Wow, wish I had come here sooner! Their biscuits and gravy is the best I've ever had by far. Portions are generous and everything is very fresh. Our server Jake was also great. There's a reason this place is always crowded.... More

This is a little drive from Tacoma but I live near Puyallup so it wasn't too bad. I went with a group of 6 adults and our kids. I had the quiche of the day. It had chicken, broccoli and cheese. It was nice and fluffy. I choose fresh fruit vs potatoes which was a nice change. Every meal came... More
