The food at the restaurant was okay. I had the Original Pork Schnitzel with cold potato salad. The schnitzel was good but the potato salad needed to be a bit more sour. The live music was great, it really gave me a vibe as if...More

All of Leavenworth is a "novelty," and this restaurant is no exception. A couple of our family members had never eaten authentic German food so it was time to introduce them. We also chose this restaurant based upon the positive reviews of others and because...More

We ate here on a Saturday night and the place was packed. We got seated fairly quickly. The service was average. The food was somewhat overpriced but the portion sizes were good. We both had schnitzel dishes. They were a bit overlooked and dried out,...More

I really really disliked the red cabbage. The rest of the food was OK. The seating is bit odd because there are very few private tables. We ended up sitting with another couple that was pretty nice though. The non alcoholic beer was pretty good.

One of the best meals we have had. The Jeager Schnitzel was wonderful and the pork tenderloin was great. Probably one of the best potato salads I have ever had the the Bulgarian mustard was out of this world. Service is wonderful. Treat yourself and...More

Food was sub-par- yes variety of sasuage was tasty but too much vinegar on the german potato salad. The spaetzle noodles were complete mush but the mushroom sauce was tasty. The sauerkraut was the best part of the meal. Loved the atmosphere though.

The Jaeger Schnitzel was delicious with the spaetzel and red cabbage. Fun place with live music (Accordion).

It wasn't bad food, but I've had much better Bavarian/ German food. It was very loud atmosphere. Service was average. Would probably try a differant place next time

We made an order to go because we had our yorkies with us and we weren't able to sit in the restaurant with them ( it sucked because it was over 100 degrees outside and super smokey). They forgot our dipping sauce for our pretzel,...More

Description
This family-owned business has been bringing Bavaria to Leavenworth for over 25 years. The chef, Anita Hamilton, has been personally overseeing the kitchen since 1991 and is a native of Germany. The made-from-scratch desserts, soups and entrees are reminiscent of traditional Gasthaus fare. The owner, Heidi Forchemer, travels to Germany yearly for new menu ideas. Her son, Max, can be heard playing his button accordion most weekends, along with other local musicians, such as Tom Tilton of the Alpenfolk band. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!
